New shoes that pay you
May 22, 2022 12:31 pm
Greetings friends,
Here are 3 goodies for you this week.
đź‘ź Run It Up
Last week I bought my first pair of digital shoes…
STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle app where you can earn crypto by being active. (aka my love language)
You first purchase a pair of shoes (NFT) then you can earn crypto. So I spent 13.2 SOL (which was $884 USD at the time) to buy my new kicks.
I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out.
You make money (utility token GST) by going on runs. So in one week, I made $156 USD (53.6 GST) just going on my normal runs! (1 GST = $2.92 USD)
So I’ll make my money back in less than 6 weeks. AND have fun along the way. (but main reason I’m doing it is to play with/learn new technology)
I’ve been following STEPN for months now trying to get an activation code (they limit # new people who can join). But after several weeks of no codes, I finally had to get creative. So I reached out to them directly and made it happen.
As I get new activation codes, I’ll share them in this newsletter to hook y’all up!
🕦 Free Time
The average one-way commute time was 27 minutes (in the US in 2019).
So quick math… That’s 10.7 DAYS a year we now have back with remote life.
Here’s how to use it to our advantage.
đź’» Tech Tip
On Wednesday mornings I hop on a “Writing Zoom” with my friend Chris.
We do a quick 15 minute catch-up on things we’re interested in or learning. Then we mute and write for 45 minutes. It’s one of my favorite meetings of the week.
This week at the hour mark, I unmuted and started talking to him. Except he was still muted and cranking away… for another 25 minutes. (haha he was in the zone)
He couldn’t hear me because he was listening to Brain.fm and apparently in a groove.
So I started a free trial this week to try it out — and it’s pretty dope.
They’re also doing 50% for Mental Health Awareness month so I might convert. (Not an affiliate link, just checking it out and sharing!)
(Note: I also am trialing Endel.io which has cool integration into Apple Watch… but I prefer the simplicity of brain.fm)
Much Love,
Mitchell
