Hey Strawberry Fans!

With the temperatures dropping in Strawberry, KY, Mr. Barr and I decided to travel a little to complete more of our combined bucket list. I know you’re thinking: do they really share a bucket list?

imageYes, yes, we do. We’ve been together for 27+ years, so we are slowly melding into the same person. What’s on the list? First and foremost was seeing our favorite band (Zebrahead) in concert, even though they usually only tour faraway places like Australia, Germany, and Japan. When they announced they were opening for Goldfinger in Salt Lake City, Utah, we jumped on a plane and went. I moshed in a tiny dress and that went as well as you’d expect, LOL. Let’s just say all of Utah saw my underpants under blacklight as I was trampled—an experience I will never forget. Rock on!

imageThe witches of Strawberry are traveling too—but further to Magmell for the release of Leprechaun’s Lucky Hucow.

This novella kicks off a trilogy I’m calling Hucows of Magmell. Original, right? I saved my originality for the insides of the books, I promise. Our story starts with a problem everyone can relate to, despite living in a different realm – the hucow sanctuary is behind on its taxes. Bessy and Daisy, the brainiest hucows, have a plan to make money by selling milk to the beasts of Magmell outside the sanctuary…that goes horribly wrong. Now, Daisy is missing, and Bessy is running from a horde of goblins. Bessy’s back-up plan? She’s going to kidnap a leprechaun, which proves easier said than done. While this is a hucow story, it is a Marilyn Barr romance. It has size differences and lactation kinks like a hucow story, but it has consent, mutual respect, and a happily ever after that hucow stories typically don’t have.

imageSpeaking of traveling, as the crew of Patricia’s Wish sails into the Spanish markets, the Walk the Walk trilogy is getting a makeover. The special edition hardback of the trilogy will contain the first three books (Walk the Plank, Walk the Deck, and Walk the Night) in one volume. It’s 756 pages with sprayed edges and embossing. She’s a beauty. This cover is by Cangxxx who made the covers for Hell of a Husband and Hooking Captain Teeth.

imageWhere can you get this special copy of Walk the Walk Omnibus? Unfortunately, not at traditional online retailers. The only way to get the fabulous special edition is from me, directly. Where? The drama continues. In my last newsletter, I warned you not to buy tickets to the Books, Blankets, and Cocoa Book Signing, even though they announced I would be there. Surprise! The promotion company running the show folded and sent a message canceling the show to the authors—despite still selling tickets on Everbrite. Don’t fall for it! Instead, join me at the Tis the Season show on Shop Small Saturday in LaGrange, KY, or the Monster Brides Virtual convention. Of course, you can always follow me on Patreon as a Strawberry Fields member, so you get all the special editions as soon as I make them.

imageOn September 20th, in the Monster Brides Facebook group, the Monster Brides authors will be announcing a new series. Monsters in Uniform is a contemporary, monster romance series featuring community helpers. My story, Frank’s Patient, features a surgeon kinda like Edward Scissorhands. What Frank has that Edward doesn’t is a full set of surgical instruments (instead of just scissors) and an ego the size of Magmell. He runs a monster hospital and is amazing at what he does…but will he be undone by a tiny human with ulcerative colitis? This one is a tear-jerker with an HEA, as I process the decision to get “the surgery” or to continue with my flares. Grab your tissues. This cover is by my ogre brother, HevKevArt.

It’s all systems go until Halloween. The plans are to have three new titles at the Tis the Season Show. I’ve already blabbed about the Walk the Walk Omnibus. However, do you remember The Spy Who Loved My Russian Tea Cakes? It had a fr33 prequel, The Spy Who Was Out Cold, which is probably what lured you into the Strawberry Rumor Mill. These books vanished when I left The Wild Rose Press…so I’m bringing them back! They will be in one volume with an embossed cover and sprayed edges called….what? Should I call it The Spiritual Spy? The Christmas Spy? Or use one of the old titles? Reply to this email with your opinion, and one lucky w1nner will receive an eBook copy of Clutching Cthulhu’s Pearls (because, why not?). The third compilation? It’s a surprise…okay… It’s the Hucows of Magmell in hardback before the other two eBooks release. Scheez, I kept that secret for a hot minute.
