  Happy birthday to me! No, really, I turned 45 at 3:01 am this morning. Anyone who says I don’t look that old gets a gold star, but I’m grateful for every revolution around the sun I’ve taken. I’m lucky enough to do what I love each day (except Fridays, when it’s laundry day) with the love of my life by my side. It’s also the 10-year anniversary of my big scary move from Ohio to Kentucky. The first time I stepped foot in the state was to pick a house. We saw 15 houses that day, determined to secure a contract on one of them. Lucky for us, we found our dream home on the edge of Tom Sawyer's forest—like in a Disney movie.

Where did the strawberries go? My 5-year contract with The Wild Rose Press expired, and I chose not to renew it. This means that all the Strawberry Shifters, Wylder West, and Spiritual Spy books aren’t available for purchase (except for paperbacks of certain titles by 3^rd party sellers.) My plan is to revise these titles to reflect my 5 years of growth and release them as Patreon exclusives, starting in December 2025 with The Spiritual Spy duology as 1 book as I intended, instead of The Spy Who was Out Cold and The Spy Who Loved My Russian Teacakes novellas.

You may be asking me if I’m okay since this month, I don’t have a new release, and I’m taking down books. I’m playing catch-up and stretching my writing muscles. On 6/6/2025, I’ll be part of the Milk Me hucow anthology. What’s a hucow? It’s a human-cow hybrid, which some define as a woman made to lactate with a serum/magic. You know I can’t resist giving her horns, cow ears, and hooves. However, a Taste of Her Own Medicine is about the powerful woman who created the serum in all the other hucow books. Dr. Erika is a PhD in the resistance, fighting the authority’s brainwashing food pellets by creating hucows across a dystopian landscape. What happens when she almost gets caught and must dose herself to get rid of the evidence?

Thank you so much for being on this journey with me. I can’t believe this month marks 5 years of being an author, 10 years in my home, 45 years on this earth, and 75 years since my favorite Disney Princess stepped on the screen (and lost her slipper.) Photo from a local gelato spot last night and now off to enjoy a gluten-free cake (hopefully, Mr. Barr bakes better than Ray from Spelunking for a Goblin Husband, iykyk.) Don’t worry, he got me a great gift in case he burns down the kitchen, so I’ll let it slide. (He remembered a bag I wanted from Disneyland and found a way to get it across the country to me when it’s not offered online. Yep, he listened to me and followed through. He’s a keeper.)
