Happy MerMay with Tentacle Play

Hey Strawberry Fans!

Happy MerMay! While I haven’t written a merman book (it’s in the cue, I promise), we’re still celebrating in landlocked Strawberry, KY. Yesterday, I finished the revision of Shiver Me Satyr. That means the Walk the Walk pirate series is complete! Patricia’s Wish has had her share of quirky captains from a vampiress and her consort, to a Kraken shifter and her philanderer, to prim Captain Betts and her satyr. Of course, we can’t forget Chub the Quartermaster who had to endure it all (but he doesn’t mind as long as he’s with his Arachne queen, Catalina.)

imageHave you read Hooking Captain Teeth? While the series technically starts with Walk the Plank, you will be ready to read Shiver Me Satyr if you’ve met the Kraken shifter sisters in Hooking Captain Teeth. Sabrina is the wild party girl who is the perfect match for our favorite himbo, Teeth. Bettina is the reserved sister who was jilted by Pastor Richard and starts her book nursing a broken heart.

imageThank you to everyone who indulged my “autistic special interest.” Like the guy who collects trains in his attic or the woman with a shrine dedicated to her model horses, I’ve loved everything pirates since I was a kid. It may be genetic because not only am I the 9X great-granddaughter of pirate queen Gracie O’Malley, but my son is just as obsessed with the Golden Age of piracy as me. Our record is 17X in one day on the Disney World Pirates of the Caribbean ride. (Mr. Barr left us to eat and sample beer in the Tiki Room after ride 8. His loss.)

imageWill I write another pirate series? Not in the next 2 years, I’m booked solid. Will I write a pirate piece if asked to write in a charity anthology like Escape to the Briny Deep? Absolutely, you can count on that. Speaking of which, thank you to everyone who purchased or read the Evil Hearts anthology on KU. Monster Romance raised almost $5000 for the Dollywood Foundation. I was in Pigeon Forge for Flirty in TN when Dolly was giving money to the flood victims, and the authors were inspired to give to her foundation. Thank you for helping make our dream a reality. Did you miss Escape to the Briny Deep? It’s coming back to KU as a 99c short at the end of the month. Stay tuned!

Want to own signed paperback copies of Shiver Me Satyr and Hooking Captain Teeth? What about the special edition of Hooking Captain Teeth? You can find these (and their book boxes) at the Monster Brides Virtual Con. It’s fr33 and more fun than we should be allowed to have on Facebook. On 6/7/2025, your favorite Monster Brides authors, influencers, and artists will be having live presentations! I present multiple times during the day about Betrothed to the Yeti, Marrying My Moth Lady, Hooking Captain Teeth, Shiver Me Satyr, Tied to Ms Krampus, and Clutching Cthulhu’s Pearls.

A final thank you to everyone who volunteered to ARC read or purchase the Milk Me anthology. It’s part of the new directions I’m taking in my author career. I loved working with that group of authors and plan to feature in two more kinky anthologies (at least!) with them. The first will be released on 10/10/25. If you loved the 80s as much as I did, you will love Earth Girls Are Easy to Dominate. Okay, I was born in the 80s, so I wasn’t doing any dominating. So in this story, I get to live out my mall-culture fantasy. There’s also a Christmas anthology in the works, but I’m going to hold onto that secret a little longer. Thank you for riding this crazy journey with me.

Blessed Me and Let Magic Find You,

Marilyn Barr
