Hi Strawberry fans!
Today is a celebration on the 1725 high seas as the crew of Patricia’s Wish weighs anchor for the fourth time. Quartermaster releases onto Kindle Unlimited today and will be on full sails (get it – on sale) for 99c for the next week. My favorite character from the Walk the Walk trilogy finally finds his lady love – the daughter of our crew’s sworn enemy with spinnerets and a traumatic past. Not to worry, Chub is 5’3” tall with a calming presence that’s 10’ tall. If anyone can heal the wounds inflicted by a gentleman, it’s the “brains of the boat.”
This book is part of a sweet fantasy romance series called the Mortar & Pestle books…but when do I write fade-to-black sweetness? As a gift for being part of the Strawberry Rumor Mill, I’ve included the spicy alternative ending to the book in our Members’ Only part of my website! Chub gets “tied up” in the consummation of his new relationship in the best way…with NSFW character art by J. Francisco! Thank you for sailing with me hearties on Patricia’s Wish.
IMPORTANT: I’ve changed the password on our Members’ Only section of my website. The new password is Rybka (with a capital R). Visit to read sample chapters, bonus scenes, and alternate endings. There are also book club discussion questions, games, and trailers for your favorite Marilyn Barr books too.
What’s coming up next? I’ve joined the Defying the Gods series with USA Today Best-sellers – S. Cinders, Brandy Golden, Skylar West, and Krista Ames. If you loved Dreamcatcher, you will love Terpsichore’s Temptation. The Greek muse of dancing vacations to Hawaii and activates a curse on a young hotel tycoon. Pika goes from humble human to giant manta ray monster in this myth re-telling I’m describing as “Dirty Dancing meets The Shape of Water.”
You can pre-order it and other paranormal romances in the “Preorder Book Fair” where you get treated twice – once when you order and then when it arrives on your kindle like magic!
Since Terpsichore’s Temptation is a blend of monster romance, erotic romance, and mythology retellings, I was able to gain access to the Mythology Book Fair and March Amazonian Monster Romance Book Fair. Browse both fairs to find your next read…if you dare. Note: It's call the Amazonian Monsters fair because all the books are on KU or coming to KU...nothing to so with the South American Jungle...unfortunately.
Thank you so much for sailing in the Golden Age of Pirates with me. I’ve loved writing about me hearty crew and learning about how the most democratic principles were written by the most ruthless of scoundrels…or where they just portrayed as scoundrels? Reading the Captain’s logs, Harbormaster’s logs, the propaganda of the times, and the stories written by crew members themselves has opened my eyes to the “New World” of the 1700s. I hope Quartermaster, and the Walk the Walk series, teach as well as entertain. I’m steadfast in my commitment to writing about those misunderstood heroes whether they are monstrous species, outcast for their heritage or disabilities, or vilified for believing all people are equal…like the pirates. What do I mean by like the pirates? Check out my TikTok videos on pirate romance tropes versus pirate history.
I can’t wait to connect with you on the clock app.
Blessed Be and Let Magic Find You,
Marilyn Barr
