Hi ,
Halloween weekend is going to be loud and theatrical - in the best way. The Rocky Horror Show lands at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Friday and Saturday, costumes encouraged and audience participation very much expected. And if you want something completely different, Puccini's Madama Butterfly opens Thursday at Teatru Astra in Gozo - the first time it's been on that stage since 2012, with Celine Byrne as Cio-Cio-San.
THIS WEEK IN MALTA
- Fredu l-Fra, a Maltese-language village comedy with Jonathan Bonello and Soraya Chetcuti, opens Friday night at the Junior College Theatre in Msida - the kind of local theatre that sells out quietly before the weekend arrives.
- Halloween programming is everywhere this week, from family-friendly lantern-making at Playmobil FunPark in Birzebbuga on Friday to full audience-interactive pantomime at Teatru Salesjan in Sliema.
- October evenings are cooling down fast - worth carrying a layer if you're heading to any outdoor or waterfront events later this week.
SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: THE MALTA BOAT SHOW
If you've never been, this is the one where Dockyard Creek in Cottonera gets taken over by yachts, marine businesses, and people who genuinely love the sea - and plenty who just like looking at beautiful boats up close.
