This Saturday is a good one. Duo La Passione bring violin and piano to Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta - cinema classics mixed with virtuoso showpieces, starting at 19:00. And if you want something completely different the same night, Pro Wrestling Malta: Fall Brawl is out at Montekristo Estate with local and international wrestlers on the card - surprisingly great fun, and tickets are under 20 euros for adults.
THIS WEEK IN MALTA
- The Miriam Galea solo exhibition Ghadajjar Ghajnejja: Ebbs and Flows opens this Thursday evening at Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta - free entry and running through to mid-November, so no excuse not to go.
- JazzKlabb is back at Teatru Salesjan this Wednesday, and this week the music travels - the MaracuJazz Quartet brings Colombian folklore, cumbia and jazz improvisation together in one room.
- October evenings in Malta are genuinely pleasant right now - warm enough to sit outside, cool enough to actually enjoy it. Worth keeping that in mind when you're choosing where to eat or which events to walk to this week.
SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK: SOS MALTA - HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERING AT MATER DEI
Malta has one of the most connected communities I know, but it can also be easy to feel like you're just moving through it - work, weekend, repeat. SOS Malta's VolServ Programme is one of the few things I've seen that actually changes that. They place volunteers directly inside Mater Dei Hospital to support patients and staff, and the impact is as straightforward as it sounds: you show up, you give someone your time, and it matters.
