Leaving November and NaNoWriMo

More Crazies

Promos for December

It's Gift Giving Time

Hey

How is everyone? Recovered from Thanksgiving and eating leftovers? I have a little cranberry sauce left, but otherwise I have moved on to the next holiday. They come at you so quickly this time of year.

I have been immersed in cards and gifts for the holidays, thankfully doing most of my shopping online. I wish I’d had the forethought to make a list before Black Friday and Cyber Monday to take better advantage of the deals, but I wasn’t that organized.

Yeah, organization isn’t my strong suit, and I was committed to winning at National Novel Writing Month (NANAWRIMO.ORG). What does winning mean? It means going heads down for all of November until I write 50,000 words, or the better part of an entire novel.

Good news, I won! Bad news, with everything else on hold for thirty days,  I’m still shopping.

I used NANOWRIMO as an opportunity to start the next book in the All’s Crazy in Love series. I love the Crazy Eights, all inspired by the little habits and quirks that make some of my best friends, well, my best friends. This book, Acting Crazy, will be about Sydney, inspired by my friend who loves Broadway theater and knows everything about it. She even takes cruises with fellow Broadway lovers and famous stars of the stage.

It is that combination, Broadway and cruising that inspired my story of Sydney and Peter, who were like ships passing in the night (pun intended) back in college, but now, decades later, find each other and kindle a very hot romance on a transatlantic cruise.

I have been enjoying writing about second chance love and look forward to sharing it, and all the All’s Crazy in Love books with you throughout 2023.

If you still haven’t started the series, pick up the prequel, Crazy to Wed, and get to know the Crazies today.

imageIs it redundant to share a 26th gift idea straight from my wish list? I made the blog list to exclude books, but I can’t give you stuff I love without suggesting a few of my favorite books. For romance readers check out Jane Lark's eight-book Marlowe Family Secrets series. It combines steamy sex from contemporary romance with the pleasure of an outstanding historical romance.

For the writer in your life, I recommend you purchase the three-book series by Valerie Howard: 1,000 Strong Verbs for Fiction Writers, 1,000 Character Reactions from Head to Toe and 1,000 Helpful Adjectives for Fiction Writers.

Happy reading,
