Revisiting our Hit Parades

Hey ,

It’s been a crazy (or it that Crazies?) kind of year for me. How was your year? Have you taken time to reflect back or are the holidays too overwhelming to breathe?

While I don’t know what 2023 will bring, I do know I’ll get further ahead in the romance writing world if I take a moment to reflect, and if I focus on the positive. You see I tend to zero in on my misses rather than my hits, but today I think we should all take a moment to pat ourselves on the back and remind ourselves to count our blessings. You in?

Writing the new All’s Crazy in Love series has been a hit for me, although I missed a few self-imposed deadlines. I do love the stories and characters that I created with the extra time.

And they are funny. Not laugh out loud funny, but touching and humorous. And to reflect that chick lit/romcom feeling I am changing the covers, and you are first to know! This is not to say the sex in these books isn’t hot, cause it is! And the stories ooze great friendships and high octane romance.

This week I am taking a moment to count my blessings, eleven of them, just in time for the holidays. Want to learn what makes me happy, what makes my days full of sunshine? Come get behind my rose-colored glasses, on the blog today.

I am counting my blessings, revisiting my accomplishments in honor of year and the holidays. So what do you say? Will you play along with me? I’ll go first. Here are my top accomplishments for 2022:

I lost twenty pounds! Okay, this isn’t a writing accomplishment but it’s huge for me. I have been carrying those nasty pounds with me too long. Thanks to my neighbor for her support and inspiration. Twenty down, twenty to go.
I completed the first four novels in the All’s Crazy in Love Series and outlined four more books. Many thanks to my Creative Writing Community for their encouragement, accountability and generous friendships. Thanks to them I did the work, and received really helpful feedback to make the books zing.
I got to know all of you a little better, so thank you for your comments, emails and encouragement of my work. Thanks to all of you my work is my play—something I enjoy doing and want to do better. I studied marketing this year, learned more about the craft of writing and about the changes in the publishing world. Is it demanding? You bet. But you all make it worth it.
