Planners as Promised
November deals and challenges
Hey ,
Are you doing NANOWRIMO? I have succeeded at it a few times, failed once. The difference? Planning of course. This time I planned down to the smallest details, including easy to grab meals, clearly my calendar, and guess what? It worked. I am almost at my goal only one week in!
I am not known for my planning capabilities, quite the opposite, but I still know the value of a good planner. And I love evaluating my options every year and then cracking the binding on my choice, or choices, as happened this year.
My regular newsletter offers several great options for 2022, but I have added a few more options of the best planners for authors—selections to help you be your most productive.
Not in the market for a planner? Already choose one from my other, non-writer-specific list? If so, skip down to "Happening Now" for some other November deals.
BRIT POE'S THRIVING SCRIBES PLANNER
I admit, I am using another planner this year, but I still had to splurge on Brit's planner as well. She is my yoda of all things productivity as an author, and I found her planner no different than her courses in being just what I need.
Designed specifically for self-publishing authors, the Thriving Scribes Planner guides authorpreneurs toward planning their year with intention and purpose. Designed to help you write, plan, and increase your productivity, Brit has created a planner that hits the mark. She includes pages for big picture vision planning, an annual review, plus annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly review pages. In addition, there are pages for time blocking, timeline planners for your work in progress, sales trackers and finally, room for notes. Not enough? Brit always includes bonuses! This time she includes the Thriving Scribes Planner Bonus Pack, digital downloads, and tools designed to help you get laser focused on what you want to create in your author business and life in the next year and keep track along the way.
What I love about Brit’s planner, besides the planner itself, is that you can choose to purchase a digital PDF (print as many copies as you like) or printed version. Also, the price—$15 for the PDF, $22 for the printed version. And it’s from Brit, who has helped me manage my time and my business more than any other online resource.
I admit, if I had seen The Writer’s Planner before I ordered my 2022 planner, this would have been my choice. The creators have thought of absolutely everything a writer might want, crammed it into 332 pages and charged only $32.95.
The Writer’s Planner is designed specifically to help novel writers by providing writing development tools along with a comprehensive monthly/weekly planner with space for monthly goal setting, habit tracking, and more.
Coil bound, 8.5" x 11", this is a dateless calendar, offering added flexibility and a choice of an open or scheduled weekly layout along with the two-page monthly calendar. It includes 12 two-page monthly calendars plus five weekly calendars per month.
Updated for 2022, the new edition includes space to record non-writing goals as well as annual and monthly writing goals. Also included are a submission tracker page for authors looking to publish traditionally, character development pages, and plot development pages. There is even a monthly sleep and mood tracker.
This planner will help you keep all your writing thoughts well organized and in one place, and includes specialized pages for your story summary, inspiration, worldview, and three-act plot structure. It finishes with an end-of-year check-in and pages to plan for 2023.
THE ULTIMATE AUTHORSHIP PLANNER
Creator Audrey Hughey describes The Ultimate Authorship Planner as “your all-in-one day planner and writing-career coach, helping you organize your writing life and get on a clear path to reach your goals.” The UAP allows you to map out your writing and publishing plans for a full year and track your daily word counts. It provides a place to record information for tax season, and an editing checklist for input to your editor, should you work with one. It also takes into account those tasks an indie author does besides writing, marketing, social media, promotion and advertising and a place to track your open and click through rates. This 8.5" x 11" planner contains 375 pages of organization for $23.95. The downside? This is a printable, so you will be absorbing the cost of ink and paper. Of course, you will also have your planner the moment you pay for it.
When I called Brit my Yoda, I wasn't kidding. That's why I already signed up for her Thriving Scribes 4th ever Annual Author Review, a free 5-day reflection and planning event for authors with daily prompts to get you ready for 2022. This review starts December 13th, but you can sign up now, and get an early bird bonus, and an invitation to her pre-event party week.
During November only, Social Media Management Platform Promo Republic is offering small businesses a special 50%. I am a huge fan of this heavy hitter, and at 50% off, this is a fabulous deal. Not only do I use it for Facebook and Instagram, I use it for Pinterest, using their automated recycling and scheduling and cruising their library for content. The number of pages they allow is awesome, and the calendar view can't be beat.
PR will provide you with a personalized Landing Page and a 50% discount, but you must grab this deal before it disappears.
That's it. No newsletter in two weeks, I am taking a much needed vacation! See you in December.
Happy planning!
