Hey ,
Talk about Bewildered? I was sure today was Wednesday! Last week I thought Thursday was Friday. I need all the writing time I can get, so why do I keep trying to lose a day?
I have no answer, of course, except that I am heads-down finalizing the overhaul of Bewildered, the prequel to the Beguiling Bachelor Romance series and the entire series about these sexy billionaire bachelors.
But in fact, it is Tuesday, so Happy Tuesday!
When I can keep the days of the week straight, I am getting used to the new schedule, swap newsletters on Saturdays (if you want to learn about what other authors are sharing, drop me a line), this email and a blog post on Tuesdays. In between it’s write, write, edit, write, format, proof, and write some more.
But it’s paying off, I promise.
Before the month is up, the fully editing version of Bewildered will be available for purchase on Amazon, and free to all of you! I am excited to re-release the entire Beguiling Bachelor series, starting with the prequel. Sloane and Randall were two of my favorite characters to create, flawed but redeemable. And Wyatt—I think I fell for him a little myself! Writing the story of their meeting, their choices, was great fun. Rewriting it was even better.
Lots of changes coming to the world of the Crazy Eights. First, the series name has changed to All’s Crazy in Love, a twist on “All’s Fair in Love and War” found in poet John Lyly's novel Euphues: The Anatomy of Wit, published in 1579.
Kelly, my assistant and strategy guru, and I played with series titles, book titles and graphics until my head spun. But we have twelve names for our twelve crazy ladies, and twelve working titles for the books! Heroes are another story. I have twelve great heroic men’s names, but I am already changing them. For some reason, I repeat the same dozen names in my head, only to realize I have used them in another book. Who would have thought names would be so much effort? Yet, it is a common complaint among authors.
So, what are the names of the books and the characters? As of today, they look like this:
Wedding Crazy - Gabriella
Crazy to Believe - Sofia
Pet Me Like Crazy - Avery
Way Past Crazy - Willow (butt this might change to Dreaming Like Crazy )
Romance me Like Crazy - Leah
Crazy to Engage - Harper
Crazy to Score - Melanie
Acting Crazy - Sydney
Crazy to Play - Meghan
Flying Crazy - Juliet
Crazy to Win - Hannah
All's Crazy in Love- Rachel
I hate to say it, but don’t hold me to these!
Over FIFTY steamy billionaire romances available for you to choose from, now through January 24th. These guys are better than hot cocoa any night of tthe week!
Subscription Boxes that Give Back
I never thought I would admit this, but I have become something of an addict for subscription boxes – you know those monthly or quarterly deliveries that promise over $250 worth of goods for only $49. I subscribe to three, but I’ve started eyeing a few more.
First, which boxes do I subscribe to? Stitchfix for all my clothes, shoes and purses, Dangerous Romance Club for steamy books and Alltrue to give myself a guaranteed feel-good gift.
I’ve talked about Stitchfix before since I have over the last two years bought my clothes from them exclusively. The books haven’t arrived, although I am anticipating their arrival anyday. I I will share more when I have a personal experience to relate.
Today I will focus on Alltrue, the box that started me on the subscription box road.
Why do I subscribe to Alltrue?
Are you kidding? It’s like Christmas everytime I open a box. Hells bells, even the box is a gift when it’s from Alltrue. I use them to store off-season clothes, old manuscripts, cat toys, and I re-gift them. Why wouldn’t I when they are so beautiful?
But what’s inside is even better. An oversized postcard of the box artwork is always included, one of which I have put aside to frame! And then come the goods, from kitchen gadgets, to makeup, to purses and overnight bags and so much more. Each item is beautifully crafted by a company working to make the world a better place. Pieces are made from recycled materials to save the earth, companies donate a percentage of profits to saving children, fighting human trafficking, planting trees. The causes are as varied as the items in the box.
Do I love everything I get?
Not always, but Allttrue is minimizing that by letting me pre-select what goes in my box. And if I must select from two or three items I feel lackluster about, I pick something for a friend and give them a gift they will love.
I have been subscribing for more than two years and can honestly say I was only disappointed twice. Once early on before I could choose my items, I received expensive candles twice. I am simply not a candle girl. But they made fabulous Christmas presents. Then there was a skin brightening serum I had no use for. Turns out my sister needed it and was thrilled when I handed it over.
You can choose an annual subscription and pay once—there is a savings and first choice of item selection—but you can also buy a box and try it, or preview and select quarter by quarter. Use this link and save $10 on your first order, my gift to you.
Give Alltrue a try. Send yourself a present, and do your part to save the world.
Happy reading,
