Stuff I Love
March …for some of you Spring has already sprung, for people like me it is just around the corner. After more than 18 inches of snow last week, the temps climbed into the 50’s yesterday! This is how Chicago likes to tease.
Of course, I had to get outside on such a gorgeous day and take a nice, long walk. Today, I am paying the price. After hunkering down against the cold, that walk helped me find muscles I hadn't used in ages.
Reading is so much easier on the body. And this issue of the newsletter is all about books.
I have started plotting out the next Double Dare romance and will be editing book two beginning next week. I am very happy with the new version of Bedazzled, a full 15% shorter than the original. The story is tighter, and I have learned not to use the word “just” quite as much. Just sayin’.
I have big plans for this both of these series, including a cross-over novel in the Double Dare series where most of the Bachelor characters will make an appearance. Watch for more on this in a couple months.
And the Beguiling Bachelor series will be leaving Amazon for a new venture beginning in May. More on that next month.

One more book for you this month, a fantasy/mystery/romance capping off the best-selling Fever Series from Karen Marie Moning.
This eleven-book series captured my imagination almost ten years ago. I talked about it every moment I took my nose out of the books. At one point, I ordered hardback books so I wouldn’t have to wait for the eBook or paperback. The story is set in Ireland, I booked a trip to Ireland anticipating visiting every spot referenced. I missed sleep, events, friends - even meals - because I couldn’t put the damn books down.
Now, Ms. Moning is bringing her series to an end. Book eleven, the final novel, Kingdom of Shadow and Light is available now. Yes, I already have my copy.
This is the story of MacKayla Lane, who travels to Dublin to investigate the murder of her sister, a student there. From the moment she arrives, things are not normal. She sees creatures others don't seem to see, comes in contact with characters who tell her to leave - NOW. The Wall between Earth and the Underworld has been breached - is MacKayla the only one who can save humanity.
If you never read the Fever series, start with book one, Dark Fever. Be forewarned, the series is complex, very sexy and quite dark in places. But the author promises to return to the light by the end of the series and she makes good on her promise. The characters are wonderfully complex, sometimes human, sometimes not, but always compelling.
I don't usually read fantasy, but I am ready to start this series all over again.
Happy reading. Stay safe and enjoy the start of Spring,
