Decisions, Decision
On the Double Dare Front
Happenings
MAKE A CHOICE!
Hey ,
I know you’re reading this on Monday, but I am writing it on a sunny Sunday morning with the whole day stretching before me full of possibilities. I could find a sunny corner and read the paper, or a romance novel, all day. Or perhaps I could enjoy this crisp day and walk a mile, get a piece of pie for a reward, and walk back again. I could binge TV, grocery shop, or call a friend. Decisions, decisions.
I am not good at making decisions. I haven’t been for years. And that is what today’s newsletter is all about.
For more than a year I have been working on my stories of the Crazy Eights and their journey to find love. I found four additional friends to join their audacious “double dare’ and promised you a twelve book series. I chose titles, character names, covers. I wrote about the Crazies, introducing you to Eliana, Rachel and Melinda.
Nope, I cannot make a decision. So now I am writing two series. One eight-book series about my favorite women, The Crazy Eights, and one four-book series about their four friends and relatives, women who join the dare – or don’t. I haven’t quite decided.
Good thing I didn’t do a cover reveal, because the titles are changing, and so are the names of some of the heroines. For example Eliana is now Sofia. Stay tuned to be reintroduced to characters, covers, and titles in the weeks to come.
On the Beguiling Bachelor Front
Holy moly, like I couldn’t leave well enough alone? I hired an editor to take her best shot at my first series and now The Beguiling Bachelor series is going through an edit-revision state too, from Bewildered to Besotted. I am tightening up language, fixing timelines, evening making Sloane more likeable—but only a tiny bit
Watch for the re-release on Amazon (and other sites) late this winter. In the meantime, the original series is available on Amazon in paperback, or on Galatea’s interactive series site.
Of course, then there's the decision about the new logo...we won't go there today!
If you are an author, the biggest thing happening now is undoubtedly the release of the Genius Bloggers Toolkit 4.0 offered by InfoStack. Courses, ebooks, programs and subscriptions with a retain value of $9,359.93. for a mere $49. Everyone in town is selling it. And I can tell you where to get your hands on it.
But if you are a reader, not a writer, you don’t care. You want to know about promotions and other ways to find great books.
Decisions, damn it. Sometimes they creep up on me. Life this one. I cannot fight it anymore. I need to separate my newsletters for readers and writers (some of you will subscribe to both).
If you will take a moment to select one of these inks, I will know which newsletter to send o you going forward. The reader newsletter will be about books, mine and others, promotions, movies, TV. It will be the stuff I love, and that I think you might love too.
My other newsletter will still include info about my work, but the rest of the email will be chock full of webinars, podcasts, courses, books and more around the craft of creating romance novels – stuff like the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit.
Which newsletter(s) do you want?
· I am just a reader – DO NOTHING, this email will keep coming
· I am just a writer – send me this email
· I am a reader and a writer—send me this other email.
Speaking of sharing with readers, and writers, I just finished reading The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, and had to recommend it to everyone. For you authors, the use of language is haunting and lyrical. For you readers, this is a creative, unusual story you won’t be able to put down. Set aside hours to finish this book, clear your calendars, prepare not to sleep.
Addie makes a deal with the devil in the late 1700’s—to avoid marriage and see more of the world than her small French village. She is a dreamer, but not careful with her choice of words. She wins immortality in the bargain, but at a price. No one can remember her as soon as she leaves the room. She meets the same people for the first time dozens of times, cannot say her name or leave her mark. Or can she?
Thanks for sticking with me, and happy reading,
P.S. Don’t forget to select your newsletter of choice. I will be separating them two weeks from now with my next email.
