Simplify for a more peaceful day...

Simplifying - a wonderful solution to the overwhelm of every day

image.

Hi ,

The world is moving at a pace and with so much coming at us everyday many of us know about simplifying and yet paradoxically we are often too busy and overwhelmed to get at it!!

There are many benefits to simplifying life - space for you to breath, room for creativity and joy to blossom, less stress to manage and the list goes on.

We've certainly heard about this and the decluttering craze of Marie Kondo has even become a verb.

Finally here's a great quote... from Courtney Carver...

“When you are overwhelmed, tired and stressed, the solution is almost always… less. Get rid of something. Lots of somethings.”

Our environment has such an influence on us - it is so worthwhile to tidy and declutter.

And if that feels overwhelming break it down into smaller pieces.

Perhaps there is one room, maybe even one corner of one room.

Maybe just one kitchen cupboard, or even just one side of the closet:)

I suggest you get to smaller and smaller pieces of the puzzle until you feel comfortable and could take action -

And please give yourself koodos for tackling anything.

Oh the bliss to just STOP for a minute - give yourself just 2 minutes to clear your mind.

If you are feeling good maybe another few minutes to reflect where you could simplify that could make the most difference.

And start with the smallest chunk/task you can think of.

There are many experts out there - maybe you even have a friend who is super at the organsing de-cluttering - ask them for advice.

What I know for sure is the clutter we look at is often a reflection of the clutter we have in our mind - and what i know for sure is inner peace is very hard to come by in a cluttered mind.

Every aspect of our life could likely do with some simplification.

The best start to simplify is to slow down - give yourself some space to start.

How about a wonderful 1 hour slowdown once a week?

Its a practise - we can gift ourselves more inner peace.
