Hi ,

This week's wisdom comes from my grandma:) She was born Nov 1, 1913.

So this week celebrating her 110th birthday - yes she has passed and yet is always alive in my memory.

Do you have an inspirational figure that provided you with wisdom and was a light in your life?? Take a moment for a remembrance.

Her wisdom?? .... "Do It Now".

She had a fluorescent orange sticker on the dash of her custom purple painted Valiant, and in big black letters was "Do It Now".

A decades old remembrance that inspires me today and a wise piece of wisdom.

Do It Now - take a moment anytime you think of inner peace.

Take a few deep breaths, connect inside with your heart and settle for moment - it is renewing:)

That's all. So simple and yet it is in these moments when we can re-establish and reconnect with our inner peace, if even for moment.

The more often we reconnect with our inner peace, the more often our neural networks will remember and it becomes easier and with more 'staying power' over time. Our brains can and will change and adapt with practise.

If you'd like to take a deeper dive and add to your inner peace - come join me for a Somatic Stretch® class. We work with our inner body awareness to ease out tension, breathe for more space and relax into a deeper stretch.

Come join me on Zoom this Tuesday and/or Thursday at 4:30pm PDT.

It's free or by donation. Just bring a pillow and a blanket for comfort and support. Here's a link to register for class.

PS There will be no Classes next week - November 7th and 9th.

Meanwhile I am grateful for the opportunity to share these simple soulful solutions for inner peace and leave the Desiderata below for your comfort in these tumultuous times. May peace be with you.

In gratitude,

Wendy

Desiderata

This is the original text from the book where Desiderata was first published.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
