.
Hi ,
How is your inner peace these days?
Im finding myself a little anxious as I've travel ahead and not done a longer trip in a while and....
I'm excited and grateful to be heading out to assist 2 Somatic Stretch retreats just south of Toulouse, France. I'll be going deep, learning and becoming a better teacher. It is deep work and if settled into can not only ease the mind and body but also show us where we can grow and release to renew ourselves.
As I've not travelled in a while (and its 2 retreats so 21 days in total)
I've been doubling down on my practise to align with my own inner peace to keep my anxiousness and stress to a hopeful minimum.
Daily meditation,15 min/day breathing sessions, healthy eating and drinking.
AND This is what has helped me so much overcome tiredness and any lack of sleep - I'm so excited -> I'm not sleeping well!!
One of my go-to's is a practise called Yoga Nidra - it is called 'yogic sleep' and known to restore the body deeply - some say it is equal to about 3-4 hours of sleep for 1 hr of yoga nidra. There are many if you search Spotify, and Youtube - and my favourite is Ally Boothroyd on Youtube and she has a wide variety of lengths of from 15 minutes to an hour!
This mornings restorative session with Ally is here - I enjoyed and feel settled and now ready to go!
Even Andrew Huberman, a Stanford neuroscientist recommends this this practise - it is also called Non-Deep Sleep Rest- NDSR if anyone with a yoga aversion would like to try:)
No matter if you are travelling or just wanting to stay sane - know you can do your part to keep steady and emanate some peace into your world.
Try these out when you are feeling jangled and need a little bit of peace in the moment...
- to come completely into the present moment (track your 5 senses in this moment - a guaranteed winner to come into the present)
- take 10 deep breaths - use your fingers to count
- remember what's important to me and actions I am taking that support this (maybe its ... eating well, greeting others with a smile, being content)
- remembering what you are grateful for today - a sure winner to centre and lift your mood
SO please if you think inner peace is important for yourself and the way you share yourself in your world try the ideas above.
There will be no Somatic Stretch in June and I'll be back for July to share this amazing peaceful body easing practise.
Wishing that you take a moment to check in with yourself and create a little more inner peace in your everyday.
May peace be with you,
Wendy
