About that basilisk primal scene 👀

OK, teasing first. Now, just a warning, this will be NSFW (Not Safe For Work or any public place where someone might see your screen), so hold on to your pearls! (Or diamonds, like our heroine. Ahem.) Wed to the Basilisk contains a primal chase scene in the jungle, with DVP (double vaginal penetration) - because, as you know, our basilisk hero has a double eggplant apart from having killer eyes.

Here's some of that primal goodness.

WARNING! 18+ NSFW content and crude language ahead. The scene is fully consensual and discussed by the characters prior to the chase.

The only thing that mattered was to run.

“I’ll shove them right inside you,” Voss said behind me, so close, my belly flipped from terror. “You’ll scream my name over and over. The whole jungle will hear.”

Gods. He sounded barely winded, his voice heavy with desire, while I couldn’t catch my breath. I was tiring quickly, burning through adrenaline. At this rate, I’d soon stumble and fall.

Ahead, I saw a place where the jungle was less thick, so I turned that way. I desperately needed to put some distance between us. It was all that mattered, and so I ran, not making any sounds now, my chest tight, throat dry from breathing through my mouth.

Voss grabbed the skirt of my dress and I cried out at the resistance. The next moment, the fabric tore, and I was free. I ran faster, trying not to think about the fact my ass was bare.

“Just getting you ready, love,” Voss said in a low, hungry voice. “Your ass looks so good when you run.”

Shit. Everything in my belly turned to liquid, confusion overwhelming me. My body pounded with adrenaline, fear, and desire so strong, I couldn’t see straight. My lungs burned, and yet, I couldn’t stop running. Voss laughed right behind me, and then, his arm was around my waist as he lifted me bodily off the ground.

I screamed, kicking at the air, but his hold was strong. He grunted in satisfaction and turned, placing my front against a thick tree. I tried to break free, but he restrained me with a low laugh. His head bent low, hot mouth brushing my ear.

“Told you I’d fuck you against a tree.”

I whined and shivered, my belly squirming with need. Oh gods, how I needed him. He pressed me to the tree with the bulk of his body until I couldn’t move, his erections pressing into my back through what remained of my dress.

“Feel how hard you made me? You made me work for it, too. I’ll take my prize now.”

Wed to the Basilisk is available to preorder on Amazon, and it will also be in Kindle Unlimited. The book goes live April 24 💚

My unending love for Ali Hazelwood

Yes, I absolutely adore Ali Hazelwood and when I heard she came up with a paranormal romance, I squealed. It took my some time to read Bride, but once I started, I devoured it in twelve hours with a break to catch some sleep. If you haven't heard about it, Bride is a delicious arranged marriage vampire-werewolf romance thanks to which knotting just became mainstream.

Yes, there's knotting. And all that delicious stuff about mates, scenting, biting and everything we love about shifter and monster romance.

I enjoyed the book with all my heart, but most of all, I'm just so in love with how Ali portrayed the progression of the relationship and intimacy, from mortal enemies forced to marry, through reluctant allies, to cozy trust, lust and love. Here is the link to the book on Amazon, but I think you can find it in most bookstores and libraries.

So yeah, that's Layla's loving book rec for today!

I'll be back next week to let you know when Wed to the Grendel by Cara Wylde, the next book in the AMM series, goes live. You can still preorder it here.

Until next week, !

Love,

~Layla
