Mission Statement:
Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.
Campaign Corner
Kingdom Builders first Capital Campaign to raise funds for a van to serve the ministry! The campaign will run December 3rd through June 23rd and our goal is to raise $50k. We anticipate the annual operating costs for the van - $2,400 a year for insurance, $750 over three years for maintenance and, of course, gas.
Give now and we have a donor who has graciously offered a “matching donation” of up to $5k!! So, any donation amount made will be matched until we reach the five thousand dollars. You give $20 and the donor will match that $20.
Thank you for being on this journey with us to help “keep this ministry rolling”!

Sweet Aroma, Runneth Over
DECEMBER 2022
As Christmas draws near and we celebrate the birth of Jesus, I'm reminded of the importance of people and family. And how Jesus took the form of man to relate to mankind. It was all about the relationship with others. How he was compassionate to everyone he encountered. Healing without any hesitation or judgment of character. His unconditional love for everyone was beyond anything I can relate to. As a result, we are called to be Christ.
Therefore, be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering, and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2 NKJV
My hope is as we celebrate this joyous time of year that we can strive to be more and more like Christ in all aspects of our lives. “An offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma”. And as Kingdom Builders grows and we continue to serve others please keep us in your prayers that we may be that Christ like example in all that we do. That sweet smelling aroma that pleases God.
We completed a small project this past month of replacing some unsafe, broken doors on a home of a single woman we did work for in the past. Her bathroom door was missing, bedroom doors were broken, and the entry doors were unsafe. It was a blessing to return and bless her again. And she was very thankful.
I may sound like a recording but again we are VERY thankful for you, your support, and your prayers. God is moving in mighty ways in our ministry. The applications keep coming and together we are being Christ. I believe God is smelling the aroma.
Have a very Merry CHRISTmas and a Joyous New Year!
Andy
Message from The Board
When was the last time that you were amazed? Oh, we might be amazed by the beauty of the freshly fallen snow fall in winter, how we have enough time in the day to accomplish what we intend (or don’t), when we learn a “fun fact” we previously didn’t know, or when we witness someone’s talent and audibly declare “wow”. We sing of Gods amazing grace, but how often are we truly amazed by God in our everyday lives? Sometimes life can feel lack luster as everything becomes familiar to us.
Amazingly, God isn’t like that. His beauty and majesty are endless, and therefore unlike anything or anyone else. God is constantly captivating. He is like the proverbial “book that you can’t put down” …and he doesn’t end! He always has something newer and deeper to reveal.
November 14th, we met as a board and discussed Andy’s declining van. There were so many factors to consider – do we fix it and keep fixing it? Do we look for something else? If something else, then what? What type of vehicle? Can the ministry afford this? Can we pay for this year over year? Where will we find what we need? We didn’t have the answers but knew we needed God’s direction and guidance, so we prayed that night as a board. We also knew we could not do this alone and needed the prayer support of all of you. We began crafting a communication and continued praying. In the meantime, Andy had been in conversation with a local dealership around those questions the board discussed to give us a baseline of information. The salesman said we could get a new van, but it would take about a year. Sigh. A couple weeks later he told us GM was no longer making new vans at that time. We could a get a used van, but it wouldn’t be exactly what we would want nor the weight capacity we needed. Double sigh.
We emailed communication asking for prayer and 2 days later we received a substantial, generous donation and a $1,000 donation specifically designated for a new van. AMAZING - an answer to prayer was on its way to us prior to us even asking! God was showing us his care for our concerns, and we saw his power and provision, so we stepped out in faith starting a capital campaign. Soon after communicating the campaign, we received a $5,000 matching grant- what an encouragement! Next, Andy received a call that the salesman found a van. And not just any van, but a van with all the specifications Andy would need…what are the chances? The salesman said this was a new van ordered and waiting in anticipation of someone who would need it …. wait…what? God surely had a plan in mind and set things in motion before we even asked. Additionally, the van can be available in February…wait NOT in a year? And the cost is not what we initially were quoted, it was less…amazed yet? But wait, there’s more…. we talked about a capital campaign to raise funds for the purchase of a van and yearly operating costs but also wanted to explore local grants that might be available to us. As I am writing this, I received an email from a fellow board member – KBCNY will be receiving a $100,000 grant and up to 4% of the funds can be utilized each year going forward.
My mind is racing, and I find myself overwhelmed by this journey. What seems like every day ordinary action, is an intricately laid out plan for this ministry. Daily its unfolding before our eyes and IS the amazingness of our God. Thank you for your continued support and prayer and witness to this ministry. I hope this is an encouragement to each one of you, and I pray that you too are amazed by God in your everyday life. God Bless and Merry Christmas!
