Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

GLORY IN HEBREW: KAVOD

• As a noun means heavy.
• Used in nonliteral ways to indicate worth and value.
•  As a verb to speak or act in a way that brings kavod to someone
• Image of God is not separate from glorifying God - image points to the reality of what it represents. Humans are meant to reflect something greater than themselves.
• Humans are crowned with kavod – God has given us kavod, when we image God well that is our kavod
• Kavod results in praise.

This past month Kingdom Builders was blessed to be able to present at some area churches. We spoke at Unatego Community Church, West Oneonta Baptist, and New Life church in Oneonta. This verse connected with me as I reflect on our presentations – we “do it all to the glory of God” (1Corinthians 10: 31). And as we do this the response has been huge. I am honored to serve and glorify the Lord and see Him at work in our ministry. To God be the glory! Amen!

We continue to receive applications and are on our way to a very busy year. Please keep us in prayer as these jobs will need more funding than we currently are sustaining. But we know that the Lord will provide. And with your help we are accomplishing great things for the Lord. Thank you all.

Message from the Board

As a Board, we are grateful for the publicity from last month’s article in our local paper. It has resulted in many new applications and has reminded us how great the need in our area is for a ministry like ours. Proverbs 11:25 says: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” We have seen time and again how refreshed our applicants are by the generosity of Kingdom Builders. The joy on their faces and expressions of thanks are genuine and real. It is our prayer that God would provide the resources that will be required to meet the needs of these new applicants.  

We’re asking God to raise up additional regular donors so that we can have the necessary funds to complete the work for these individuals.  We serve a mighty God who knows the financial needs of the ministry and the physical needs of our applicants.  We’re grateful to those of you who give and pray for us and those whom we serve on a regular basis.  Would you pray with us now for additional donors that give on a regular basis.  As we continue to reach out to area churches, pray with us that people will be drawn to our ministry and commit to becoming regular givers so that our work can continue and keep up with the needs that exist in our area.

God is the source of all things, He is the means of all things, He is the aim and purpose of all things in creation, in history and in salvation.

For the day when his glory will be seen clearly: “For we now see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face” (1 Corinthians 13:12).

Prayers:

That our lives are marked by a desire to glorify God, by living to do things in the name of God and thanking God.

That we would heed the word of John the Baptist: “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).

That the exercise of our faith and freedom in Christ as believers does not destroy the faith of another believer (1Corinthians 8: 9-11) or ruin Jesus’s reputation among non-believers (1Corinthians 10: 27-29).
