Mission Statement:
Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.
In Matthew Henry’s commentary, he says the following about Ecclesiastes 3:11: “Every thing is as God made it; not as it appears to us. We have the world so much in our hearts, are so taken up with thoughts and cares of worldly things, that we have neither time nor spirit to see God’s hand in them. The world has not only gained possession of the heart but has formed thoughts against the beauty of God’s works.”
God’s timing, suitable for every occasion
JANUARY 2024
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV
God gave me this verse today. It's a sweet reminder of God's awesomeness and power. "He has made EVERYTHING beautiful in its time". Can we honestly even grasp that? EVERYTHING? I maybe can't but it does give me great comfort to read this and know it is true. And it's in His time for its time. His time past, present, and future. I look back at where Kingdom Builders was and truth be known have asked, what? why? how? And said, "are you kidding me?!" Then things fall into place and blessings overflow. And I then say " duh". And the great part is " He has also set eternity in the human heart". As Kingdom Builders continues in the work the Lord has put before us, I am thankful for the drive he has put in our hearts and yours to be focused on the eternal. To be able to bless others with our gifts, is an honor. To glorify Him and expand His kingdom for eternity. The work that God has done and is doing is something we find hard to fathom. But it's real and a complete joy.
We recently finished up a small project to spruce up and prevent further damage of this home. The Lord provided and we moved. Praise God!
We currently have a few projects in the making. One is a bathroom remodel and exterior door replacements for a couple with physical challenges of one of the family members. Another is a much larger project for a sweet elderly widow. Her home has been neglected for some time and needs many repairs. Things like a leaking, rotted roof, weather beaten siding causing water damage to sidewall, deteriorated basement entrance from outside, a worn-out bathroom in need of a whole makeover, some new plumbing and wiring, a new water heater, basement insulation and a whole house paint job
So, we have some big needs in front of us, but I know nothing is too big for our God. And EVERYTHING has its time in His time.
I want to thank all of you who have been so generous and faithful in your prayers and giving this past year. It has been a great year full of blessings all around.
May God bless you all in this new year ahead,
Andy
Message from the Board:
I am thrilled to share the latest updates on our ministry as we continue to grow and make a positive impact in the lives of those in need. Over the past four years, we've achieved significant milestones, delivering 39 issues of our newsletter, and witnessing the expansion of our volunteer-driven initiatives.
Our founder, Andy Deforest, leads our ministry with unwavering dedication, and it's heartening to see the positive changes we've achieved through our construction work for the needy and the spreading of the word of God. We operate as a fully volunteer-driven organization, relying on the support and commitment of individuals who share our vision. Embracing technology, we've transitioned to a cloud-based server, ensuring the safety and accessibility of our important documents. Our website serves as a platform to share our mission, reaching those who seek our help and providing a channel for new applications. This growth is a testament to the power of prayer and the blessings we receive in the name of Jesus.
I am pleased to report that, by the grace of God, we are not only meeting our expenses but also flourishing as a ministry. Let us continue to be vessels of His love and compassion as we embark on this journey together. As we reflect on our progress, let's draw inspiration from Philippians 2:4, "Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others." May this verse guide us in our endeavors and reinforce our commitment to serving with selflessness and love. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Kingdom Builders of Central New York.
In His Service,
Steve Pickhardt IT Support at Kingdom Builders of Central New York
Praises:
God that he made everything suitable for purpose at its appointed time.
God sees what we cannot see, and he is trustworthy and faithful.
God that he has put this desire in our hearts to seek out something eternal so that it can lead us to him.
Prayers:
That we help others know, and recall ourselves, that its only when we remember our creator that we can find a life of significance.
That we don’t get distracted by what is temporary, rather we let what is temporary remind of what is eternal.
That God will give us his eyes to see the beauty of his timing especially in our pain, suffering and sorrow.
