Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Surrendering to Divine Direction: Allowing God to Determine Our Path

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21 NIV

This verse stuck with me as we took on a small project a few weeks ago. I had planned on jumping right into our next project a roof structure over a family’s trailer home. I was "this" close to getting there and going at it full force. BUT the Lord had a plan. And He wasn't about to let me mess it up. A sweet elderly woman was In need of a new coating on her trailer roof. She had paid a significant amount of money to John Doe to come coat it for her a couple years ago only to have, in the first year, it start leaking and in the months to pass have the coating actually peeled OFF! She was approved by KB to do the work and was on our list. So before starting our next job that was going to take a significant amount of time, I thought I would give her a follow up call. Well as we talked and she told me of how bad it was and leaks were starting to be more prevalent I could sense the Lord speaking to me. Rain was coming and this needed to be taken care of NOW. So off I went on different direction. The Lords direction. His plan. Unfortunately, it was a little HOT that day to be on a tin roof and a little muggy as well. But the Lord gave me what I needed to scrape the old off, seal around the roof penetrations and apply a nice new coating. Wow...what a blessing. A good day’s work AND a great time for a new relationship. When I finished, we had a chance to give God the glory, together and praise His name! Amen! She is a very sweet person and was very appreciative of what Kingdom Builders did for her. 

She followed up days later with very kind words in a thank you card. We are blessed! And to think "I" had plans in my heart for a different direction. This direction, this purpose, was definitely of the Lord. I am thankful! 

So, after that day I proceeded to get busy on the roof structure on another large project. And have been at it full force. It's getting toward completion and next month we will share the Goodness of God, again.
