Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

The one, True Vine

APRIL 2024

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John15: 4-5

These verses touched me this week. What a great symbol of our relationship with the Lord. Alone as a branch we can do nothing but wither and die but as the branch stays connect to the vine it will flourish, “bear much fruit". It also reminds me of how the vine is the life for the branches so it's very fitting that God is our vine and we are the branches. He is what holds us together to Him, giving us life, to bear much fruit as we grow in Him. PRAISE GOD!

I see this in our ministry. Kingdom Builders is the branch that holds onto the vine, giving us life and allowing us to be fruitful. Fruitful in our service to the ones in need. And as we remain faithful and obedient to our calling our "branch" is flourishing. The fruit is abundant, and we are eternally grateful.

We finished up some work on a kitchen this month for one of our applicants. This is just a small job in a very large scope of work. The weather is now turning more pleasant for the other work and preparations are being made to proceed. 

The Lord is blessing us with many new applicants. One of which needs a new kitchen floor structure, flooring, new window, outside trim, entry door and foundation work. This gentleman lives alone and has some challenging health issues. We are honored to be able to bless him and relieve him of the worries of needed home repair. 

We will be starting a job in between these projects for a family that is also facing health issues that makes it difficult to be able to get in and out of a standard tub. This project consists of a new walk-in shower, flooring, and toilet and two new entry doors. 

So, we have lots to do but I am very confident that our "vine" will hold onto us and allow us to be fruitful. We thank you all for your prayers and support.

Meet the Board

1 Corinthians 3:7-9 from the NLT states “It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering, what is important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers and you are God’s fields. You are God’s building.” 

We just came through the Easter season, where we celebrated the resurrection of Christ’s greatest demonstration of love to mankind. Every year it challenges me personally to share that love with others. Kingdom Builders is a wonderful ministry in our region for believers and churches to come together to reach out and evangelize those in need. In order to help reap a harvest, we must be willing to work the fields, plant seeds, and water the soil with God’s Word knowing that God will give the increase. Kingdom Builders is a great opportunity to plant seeds of love and be a blessing to others. 

I’ve been on the board for a year, and I have seen the heart of Andy and the board to be that blessing to our region. May we as believers continue to build bridges of love and remove barriers in peoples’ lives for God’s glory.

Praises:

The branch depends on the vine even more than the sheep depends on the shepherd or the child depends on the father. Thank you, Jesus, for being our one true vine.

That every benefit of abiding in the vine was secured for us by the crucified flesh and shed blood of Christ.

Prayers:

That we may mirror the vine and branch picture emphasizing complete dependence and the need for constant connection with our God.

Against the battle for our hearts and what keep us from abiding in the vine: against the world, the flesh and the devil. 

We ask that you continue to bear fruit through this ministry and the fruit of our lives will be people coming to know Jesus.
