Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Where there is community there is fellowship

JULY 2022

Summer is upon us and it’s time to take advantage of the time we can spend in the great outdoors. Kingdom Builders decided to do just that. We recently got together with our board members and their families and had a summertime picnic. It was a great time to unwind and relax and oh yeah, enjoy some GREAT food. It’s always a pleasure to come together and share a meal and fellowship. For me, coming together with a meal brings a special closeness and bond - just as with Jesus and his disciples. They would often come together and "break bread". It was a time for them to rest and give thanks to God and a time for them to be connected physically and spiritually. I personally am thankful for food, it’s my happy place. But we can't just eat all the time; there's work to be done.

We were able to complete a job for and elderly widow who struggles with arthritis in her legs. She needed to get rid of her old tub and have a shower unit for easier access to bathe. So, a little cutting and demolition needed to be done along with some plumbing and BAM! A new shower unit! Praise God! 

I'm finding our ministry is unique. When people are in need of repairs to their home to make their life more comfortable, I'm finding they also have other needs. As we enter their home, there becomes a connection and a need to share. I’m blessed to be able to be there and listen and share my life with them as well. We have some good chats and hopefully I am planting seeds. I know this is what the real story is here. God has put this ministry in place to do just that. As we continue with our work, please pray that we can be planting those seeds. 

For our next project we will be replacing a rotted floor that was caused by a leaking water heater. Right now, the homeowner has planks on the floor to keep her bed from falling through and for her to strategically walk in her bedroom. The need is definitely there, and we are on it! So once again thank you for all you do to make this happen.

Message from The Board

I have had the privilege of serving on the Kingdom Builders board for the past 2 ½ years as the treasurer. Working with the current board has been encouraging and rewarding. Everyone has a passion for this ministry and a desire to assist Andy, supporting him and guiding him as he does what he loves to do – helping people with home repairs they may not be able to do or afford to do and sharing the love of Christ with them.  

As the treasurer, I have the opportunity to use some of my gifts and skills. I am always amazed at God’s goodness in the financial area of providing for this ministry through the generosity and faithfulness of the many donors. I also have had firsthand opportunity to volunteer at Kingdom Builders first project, working alongside other Board members, and to also work with the homeowner planting a garden. I may not have ever met this young mom if it weren’t for Kingdom Builders. Each homeowner Kingdom Builders has had the privilege of serving is especially grateful. We, primarily Andy, would not be able to minister to those in need in this way without the faithfulness, commitment, and generosity of each of our supporters whether it be through financial support or prayer. We thank God for each and every one.

Praise:

That we have been appointed by God to do this work for him and entrusted by Him with what is needful to benefit others.

For the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit and for the spiritual gifts that we have been given by Your goodness and grace.

Prayers:

That we may be diligent to use the gifts and graces that have been given to us for the benefit of others.

That we see each opportunity god gives us to share our gifts and that we act in those moments.

Help us to keep an eternal perspective ever in sight and praise Your name for the blessed hope and glorious future that You have purposed for all Your people.
