Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Many Hands Make Light Work

JANUARY 2024

John Heywood was the first person who penned this phrase – Many hands make light work. In the book of Nehemiah chapter 3 we see how this plays out in the rebuilding of Jerusalem. Nehemiah gathered materials and many people to achieve this task. Families worked together to build the section of the wall just in front of their own home because, individually protected homes add up to make a collectively protected community. When those with more skill and energy finished their own section, they went on to help others (v. 30). The things that are too much for just one person or even a few can be achieved when everyone rises and gets involved. 

This story resonates with us and our recent project. We had a project where the foundation wall of a home was damaged and falling in. Kingdom Builders does not have the machinery or manpower to do such a task. So, we hired Billy Komenda of Komenda Property Management of Otego. He and his men came in and tore the compromised foundation wall out and laid up a new one.  

They did a great job and in a very timely manner. We are blessed. This was definitely too much for us to handle but with the right people with more skill can come in do their work it collectively comes together. 

God has strategically placed us where he wants us to be in order to accomplish great things. He has important work for us to do in the church, in neighborhoods, in business, in government, and especially in homes. So together, let's get our hands on the work.

God is the great Planner and Initiator and like Nehemiah we can head Gods call and act - “God had put into my heart to do”. Neh 2:12 and 7:5

Prayers:

That despite the cost, inconvenience or risk we can step forward in obedience out of our great love for God and his people.

The world has confidence in themselves, Christians have confidence in the God of heaven – may our reliance on him to accomplish his purposes through his power be obvious to a watching world.
