Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Meet the Board

Hi, I’m Larry Mattice and I am an estimator with Kingdom Builders. I visit potential job sites, determine what work needs to be done and generate a cost estimate for each project. I began my construction career at Delhi Tech majoring in small frame construction. After college I worked in Roxbury for Sanford Hinkley building houses. I joined the carpenters union, which I was a member of for over 25 years, in commercial construction for Andrew Mancini out of Endicott. I am currently retired, but occupy my time keeping busy as a facility superintendent for a local non-profit and doing odd jobs for those in need.

As Kingdom Builders continues to serve, I am reminded of how great out God is and that He is the owner of all things. We are here to be good stewards of his creation and possessions, that He allows us to use, to live our lives. A life that is to serve and glorify Him. It is an honor and privilege to have this responsibility. And very humbling. As God has allowed us to serve by helping families in need, I am indeed honored and in awe of how great His provisions are.

This past week we were able to complete another two jobs in a project - skirting.

In the second we had a bump to overcome with some additional repairs. The living room floor had gotten significantly damaged from a water leak and was very unsafe.

But this was not a problem for God. He blessed us with enough funds to get this repaired. AWESOME!! It is just a reminder of when we cling to God and put him first, He will provide. And why not? He is the owner of “our things” and if we steward well, He will see to it that it is good.

I say we finished this project, but we do have one more task to complete and that is the kitchen flooring. We have a local flooring company, Carpet Plus of Oneonta, that will be installing new vinyl flooring for us. They have been very gracious to us providing very good work for a very good price. The owner, Steve is a good Christian man who is great to work with. It’s funny how God aligns everything…huh?

Our next 2 projects consist of a single mon in need of repairs to her bathroom in her mobile home then a new outside basement stairwell and some electrical work. Please pray that the unexpected concerns be few, and that God will bring the funds to keep us moving forward, accepting and approving more applications, and continuing to serve God and his people.

It is important to note that Kingdom Builders ministry is primarily doing remodeling and in remodeling a lot of unforeseen and unexpected things arise. It’s been the norm so far since we began, and these things need funds to repair. So please keep us in prayer concerning this. My heart wants to fix it all, but funds determine how much we can accomplish/help with each project.

Lastly, the board decided to step out in faith and provide me with healthcare. This is a blessing for sure as this “old guy” isn’t getting any younger and who knew that I would have new aches and pains as I get older…WHO KNEW? Hahah! But it is a step out in faith for us as we trust God will provide the funds to cover this cost.
