Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Burdens and (cinnamon) Buns

JULY 2024

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 NIV

I try each day to seek and do the things that are pleasing to the Lord. I try. It's not always accomplished and as long as I am in this world I will never reach perfection in this. But I will strive to do my best. As we continue to receive applications for Kingdom Builders the heavy burdens of many struggling homeowners are, very obvious. As a somewhat young person I am capable of my own home repairs, and it certainly is not a burden for me. But this is not so for so very many in our community. It is a true burden and our hope in this ministry is to carry those burdens for the many struggling to keep their homes safe and in good shape. Carrying each other’s burden. It's what we strive to do. 

Last month we got into one of our larger projects in our community for an elderly widow. I personally have been spending a lot of time with her and have grown very fond of her. We have been spending time together over coffee and cinnamon buns -my favorite! In this time, we have been discussing my walk with the Lord as well as Kingdom Builders walk and ministry. As a result, she has come to know the Lord. She is very inquisitive about the Bible and has read much of the New Testament. I do enjoy sharing scripture with her and seeing her growth. It truly is a blessing to me.

We have become very good friends and share a lot of laughter together. God has put us together for such a time as this.

We were able to repair and replace roofing on 3 areas of her home and install much needed siding on the back portion of the house. This is just a part of the work needed and we will continue to pull forward with the other needs. Which are tearing put the old exterior basement entrance (which can be seen somewhat in one of the photos) a new bathroom, new kitchen flooring, front porch repair and painting of the entire house. So much is needed to be done yet, but Kingdom Builders is very blessed to carry her burden.

Jesus for his burden-bearing love for us.

That God invites us to participate with Jesus in being blessing to the broken and discouraged.

With the help of the Holy Spirit we can be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.

Prayers:

Lord help us to reflect that burden-bearing love for others.

Pray that our lives and the ministry will continue to be a blessing to those around us.

Give us eyes to see, a heart willing to serve, and hands to help the people in our path that need a burden lifted.
