Mission Statement:

Kingdom Builders ministry exists to serve homeowners in the greater Oneonta area by providing quality labor to address construction needs that they are unable to accomplish by their own means. Although the practical focus is on construction, the spiritual focus is on building relationships with those served, with the end goal of demonstrating the love of Christ through ministry.

Happy New Year!

JANUARY 2022

I hope you all had a joyous, blessed holiday. I don't know about you, but this is the time of year that I become "still". As Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God". To me that scripture is powerful. It tells me to stop, breathe and be "still" taking away all distractions, all the busy things that take my mind off God and take Him in and reflect on how big and awesome God is. And how He continues to provide all we need. Being still has given me the excitement and energy to serve. It’s funny how that works. He knows just what we need.

Kingdom Builders had a great year, and I am looking forward to seeing how God brings people in need to us in the year to come. We have 4 new applicants approved and are ready to start the new year off. With these new jobs comes the need for funds, and just like that, God has provided. Just as He promises. I am excited to form these new relationships and bless those in need. 

Here are two of the four that need our help. 

One has several rotted spots in her floor. It has gotten so bad she now has lumber under her bed to keep her bed from dropping through the subfloor. The other is suffering with arthritis and is having difficulty getting in and out of her tub and needs a walk-in shower. So, as we kick off this new year, I want to give thanks to God for providing Kingdom Builders with the funds and knowledge to bless these people in need.

Message from the Board

Looking back at our accomplishments for 2021 as a new non-profit organization is exciting. We have completed four projects, and now have applications for multiple new projects. 2022 looks like the next level of escalated growth for this ministry. We are starting to get better funding from private donors as well as donations from businesses in the area. We have also reached out to churches in the area to make our ministry known. 

There have been some changes in Kingdom Builders recently. One of our Board Members Dave Gray has stepped down from the board but plans to continue helping us in estimating projects. Dave was instrumental in creating our assessment process of applicants and projects. THANK YOU, DAVE for your service!

"When one door closes, another opens” as we have a new board member that brings many abilities to KBCNY. Bill Rogers was voted in as board member at our December meeting. Bill has worked in the electrical industry for 36 years. He is a regional manager of operations and oversees major overhead electric construction projects for New York and Maine. He has served as member and chair of the City of Oneonta Electrical Licensing Board. He also serves his local church as trustee. He has knowledge of construction and carpentry as well. We welcome Bill to the board and are very excited to serve alongside him.

Some of the other updates include covering Andy’s healthcare. This is the big first step. The goal is to bring Andy on as a full-time employee so he will not need to work to support his family’s needs and can make this a full-time ministry. We are working to also get insurance for volunteers who want to work on projects. All of this takes capital, and we are hoping as the ministry grows, we will be able to meet some of these goals. Hopefully this year! Please continue to pray for this ministry and if you want to be more integral to this ministry let us know.

PRAISE AND PRAYERS

Praise:

God for a new year, a new beginning and that only He has the power to make all things new!

For His continued provision in health, time, money, resources and people (4 new applications!!).

God that he is relational, seeking our partnership, giving us the example of his son so that we may seek and demonstrate the same partnership with others.

Prayers:

That we refuse to let busyness deceive us into feeling important, powerful and in control and rather be still so that we are reminded of God’s sovereignty, goodness, nearness and longing for daily partnership with us.

For the Spirit to lead us each step of the way this New Year. Guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire Him above all else. For strength and courage to listen and obey even when its hard or not what we would have chosen. Help us to not lean on our own understanding but acknowledge God so that he can direct our words, thoughts and actions.
