Low Motivation Is Not Laziness

Low motivation and laziness are easily misunderstood. When we don’t feel like doing a workout due to time, weather, mood etc., then it’s easy to associate this feeling with one of laziness. Sometimes this feeling can last a few days or even a few weeks. What the f*** is going on!? You force yourself to do the workout, but this feeling continues, and you are fighting to motivate yourself.


Don’t worry!


This can be quite normal after a period of focused training towards an event or goal. There is nothing wrong and there are easy to follow solutions. In the latest video podcast, I cover several options that might help.

Are You More Focused on Your FTP than Your Fitness?

This may sound like a strange comment as you think that FTP increase will naturally mean fitness increases. This might be the case for some but for many others it doesn’t naturally follow that path. FTP is a wonderful number, so I am not bashing it BUT the fact that a lot of riders literally ‘bash’ away at FTP improvement as the answer to all their fitness prayers is slightly misaligned with a long-term health and fitness development. It might also be linked to the low motivation issue that I mention above. Check out the link below if you want to learn more.
