Do you train to get FIT or train to get HEALTHY?

Hi ,
As we speed faster than an aero road bike to winter across Europe and America it’s that time of year where strong words are said in front of the mirror!
‘This winter will be the one where I train hard, lose the excess weight, eat well, make folks proud of me, get my partner a great xmas present, buy that new bike (and lie about the price)... ‘
The list is endless, and I have heard it all before. It never shocks me to hear people see the transition of points on the calendar as moments of opportunity to feed their ego with a bit of self-gratification.
However, words are useless without actions. You don’t need me to tell you that. BUT, more important, so FEW riders actually follow smart training adjustments and therefore they cripple themselves with expectations before they start!
Failure comes quickly and they keep spinning around in this cycle (no pun intended) of high and low motivation!
For example, let me ask you a simple question. Do you train to get FIT or train to get HEALTHY?
