Dear
Today the Mayor of Chicago issued a self-imposed "stay at home" message. I wanted to share this message from the President of the Illinois Fitness Association, Steven Schwartz.

Subject: Chicago Stay at Home Advisory
At 1p today Mayor Lightfoot issued a Stay at Home Advisory which takes effect Monday at 6am, I do not yet have a copy of the press release or the order, but will pass it along when it arrives.
Samir did have a call with us this morning at 11 to give us a heads up. Here is the crux of the situation:
- This is for the City of Chicago Only (not suburbs or suburban cook)
- Positivity rate is over 13% with some neighborhoods at 25%
- Now seeing 1,500 new cases per day
- Concerned about hospital capacity
- Asking residents to stay at home except for school and essential care.
- Events and gathering will be further limited from 25 people down to 10
- This will be in place for 30 days
- Asking people not to have thanksgiving together.
- GYMS, HEALTH CLUBS AND STUDIOS: NO CHANGE. WE ARE STILL AT 15 PERSON LIMIT FOR CLASSES. NO CHANGE TO CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS
I asked specifically about gyms and Samir said our “safety track record was good so there was no need for further restrictions”. Our message is being heard!
Obviously, there is a disconnect with a stay at home advisory and ok to go to the gym message, so I still expect an impact on our business, but it could have been worse.
