Happy June!

I hope Summer is off to a great start for everyone. I'm staying busy putting words on the page. With an active Kindle Vella series and additional projects in the queue, it's challenging. But I'm up for it.

I'm fully in book event mode as well. As I stated last month, I attended IRAE for the first time as an author. I had a blast. I'm looking forward to having just as much fun at my next event. Dee and I will be back on the road again soon. I'm heading back to Florida at the end of the month to attend Space Coast Book Lovers for the first time.

At present, I'm spending my days either writing on Draft Pick Season II: Andrei or my contribution to the Sin City MC series Toad. The main characters in both stories keep my on my toes. 😁

I'll post a short (unedited) excerpt below so you can meet Toad and Esmeralda. I also have some recommended reads from a couple of talented author friends for you to consider.

Toad: Sin City MC Oakland Chapter

Unedited Excerpt

She folded her arms across her middle, once again pushing those bountiful breast up for his enjoyment. He was so enamored, he almost missed what she said.

“If you’re a regular customer, I should be asking which of these things you own instead of you asking me what I want.”

Toad couldn’t help himself.  He leaned closer to her and lowered his voice.

“Princess, everyone knows it’s polite to allow your partner to choose their own toys. What would it look like for me to have a collection of items without knowing which ones you prefer?”

Esmeralda’s head tipped back and her mouth dropped open slightly. Toad licked his bottom lip and he was certain his messaging was quite clear. Before his eyes, she cycled through stages of emotions finally landing on understanding.

Tilting her pert little nose into the air, she actually sniffed at him. So fucking cute.

“It doesn’t matter which one I’d prefer. I don’t want one. Besides, I’m not one of your biker bunnies.”

“Angels.”

“What?”

“We call them Angels. And, I’m well aware that you aren’t one of them.”

Toad allowed his gaze to travel over her from head to toe, overtly projecting his attraction. It wasn’t subtle. But, he wasn’t exactly a subtle guy. Not when it came to something he wanted.  

Make no mistake about it, he wanted Esmeralda Upton. And he wanted her to know it. The flush beneath her beautiful brown skin intensified and she stiffly turned her head, breaking their visual connection.

“You know what? I don’t have time for this.” 

Facing away from the wall, she walked over to the section containing leather bracelets and cuffs. As she reached into the wire bin, he closed the distance between them. Stopping just behind her, he looked over her shoulder to see what she’d selected.

She held a black cuff style bracelet with bronzed metal at the center and leather laces on the ends. Easily lifting it from her fingers, he captured her hand and laced the cuff onto her wrist.

“You can’t really know if it’ll work unless you try it on.”

“I was just looking it.” Esmeralda protested. She tugged her arm lightly earning a light tap from Toad. 

“Stop wiggling.”

“Excuse you!”

“What? I’m being helpful.”

“You’re being bossy and manhandling me.”

Toad froze mid action and stared at her. “I’ll accept bossy, because I’m a fucking boss. But manhandling? Trust me, Princess, if I manhandle you, you will damn well be able to tell the difference. Now, be still.”
