Sometimes we all just need a little kick...

I've got some exciting news!

One day a couple of weeks ago, I received an email from Kickstarter telling me about a special thing every year in January for makers/creators (that would be ME). It's run like a small-scale mini-Kickstarter (ie most Indie creators don't need to raise 10 million for their state-of the-art-never-been-made-before technology thingy). Sometimes they just need to get out in front of more people and be found.

(If you're not familiar with Kickstarter, they're a crowd-funding program where innovative people can get advanced backing for some pretty incredible stuff--to help them bring the products to life and to the marketplace).

I took the leap. EEks!

I thought about it and decided to submit a Kickstarter. It was a LOT more work than I could have imagined. They had to verify who I am and they hook up funding. I had to create and write and put together the whole project. And then finally send it to a committee for review. It took some time.

I decided to choose a project that would be near and dear to me. (Can you guess??) If you've been around for a bit, your chances of guessing are pretty darn good. (Why am I so predictable?)

My Kickstarter project is bringing some chicken note cards to life through a small stationary press. Even if that's not something that floats your goat (sorry, no goats made the cut), I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if you take a look at what I've got going. And, also, please send it to anyone you know. (ie post it on social media, share it with all your chicken friends, etc.).

I need your help...but maybe not like you think...

The way Kickstarter works is that it's an all-or-nothing deal. I raise what I need, or I get nothing. So, the more eyeballs that see it, the better my chances are. Plus, just for fun, I added a cute chicken video at the end with Irene showing off. That's worth the few minutes it will take to go check out my Kickstarter right there, yes?!! (Irene definitely thinks YES!)

I'm super excited about this. I've never done anything like it before and I've got lots of rewards for those who help...even some original artwork!

And thanks in advance. It really does take a village to keep an artist/farmer like me afloat. I appreciate all your help.

PS In case you think it's all just about chickens, it's not! One reward will turn your pet into a greeting card...(but I don't want to give away all the details...go check it out for yourself.)
