There are different opinions on when it is best to drink Kombucha. Still generally, it is recommended to consume it in moderation and at any time of day that fits your schedule. It depends on your personal health goals and sensitivities. Here are some considerations:
In the Morning: Drinking Kombucha on an empty stomach in the morning may maximize the potency of the probiotics, as they can pass through your stomach more quickly and reach your intestines where the real magic happens.
At Mealtime: Consuming Kombucha before, with or after a meal is thought to aid with digestion. Plus, the carbonation can make you feel fuller, which may help if you're aiming for weight loss.
In the Evening: Our Kombucha is made with a combination of black and green tea, which contains some caffeine. If you are sensitive to caffeine, it's best to avoid Kombucha before bed to prevent sleep disruption.
Personal Preferences and Routine: Ultimately, the best time to drink Kombucha is also influenced by your daily routine and when you enjoy it the most. Kombucha contains a trace amount of alcohol from fermentation and some caffeine from the tea, so it's important to consider these factors when deciding when to drink it. Always listen to your body and adjust your Kombucha consumption accordingly.
Having said that, I'd like to share my personal strategy on drinking Kombucha.
I am a coffee person and I enjoy my morning ritual cup of coffee. My body also has a natural tendency towards intermittent fasting. I usually only crave food after noon, and I often make myself wait until 1pm to eat anything.
50% of the time, this is when I consume my Kombucha. This way, my body is receiving it on an empty stomach so it's almost like drinking it first thing in the morning.
The other 50% of the time, I eat a healthy lunch and then I reach for the Kombucha at between 2-3pm.
If I know I plan on having something wonderfully Italian and packed with carbs, like homemade pizza, or pasta, I also drink a small amount of Kombucha before I enjoy my meal.
One more personal tip: If I know I'm going to consume a splurge meal like a cheeseburger with fries, I eat a small handful of healthy nuts about a half hour before the fatty meal. I've done this for many years. My hypothesis is that my body is happy with the healthy fats I've eaten beforehand, so it doesn't need to hang onto those naughty French fries.
Remember, at Blanco Booch, we use only Texas Natural Spring Water from a protected source and organic raw cane sugar in our Kombucha.
We go the extra mile to juice our fruits in-house for the second fermentation.
No added filtered water or preservatives are used.
