BLOG, VIDEO & ARTICLES
NOW TV: Will it save you money?
If you are paying for TV via Sky or Virgin, then one of the best ways to reduce your bills is to replace it with on-demand streaming of the same channels via NOW.
Here's my in-depth review of the good and the bad, and the ways you can reduce what you pay each month.
Tesco Clubcard Pay+ review
This prepaid card from Tesco is now available to all Clubcard customers, offering you the chance to earn additional points on purchases. I've taken a look at how it works and whether you should bother.
Beat the Virgin Media price hikes
Letters and emails will soon be arriving for Virgin Media customers with details of price increases on broadband, TV and phone packages.
But it's not necessarily bad news, as you can use these hikes to haggle a new deal or leave for a cheaper supplier - even if you're in contract. Here's more.
CASH CHATS PODCAST
#245 The best budgeting apps and a bargain SIM deal that should be avoided
The latest episode of the pod is a solo episode, and I’m talking about:
- The pros and cons of budgeting and money management apps
- Why a 100GB for £12 a month SIM deal is a bad buy
You can listen to episodes via all the normal podcasting routes or over on the blog.
If you do listen on one of these apps, please do take 60 seconds to leave a rating and review!
ASK ANDY

In this week's live video and roundup of the questions you've emailed and messaged I look at:
- Can I pay for Prime monthly?
- Are 40-year mortgage terms a good idea?
- Can I reverse a bank switch?
- Should I use Chase or Amex?
- & much, much more
Next live Q&A: 25 January 2022!
The next Ask Andy live stream will be in two weeks on Tuesday 25 January 2022. Make sure you follow me on YouTube or Instagram so you get notifications.
THIS WEEK'S TOP DEALS
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the titles or links for more information.
I'll also share a quick update on Instagram on Saturday morning.
1. Amex: Boosted Avios welcome bonus
The two British Airways American Express credit cards have boosted welcome bonuses, with the BA Premium Plus Amex card offer available to most existing customers. This is a rare opportunity to get a second bonus. I've explained how it works.
Plus there's an offer worth £100 a year at Harvey Nichols for Amex Platinum cardholders. More on both deals here.
2. HSBC: £150 switching offer
As I mentioned a few weeks ago there's a new switching offer from HSBC worth £150. I've taken a detailed look at how it works, plus whether you should choose this over the £130 First Direct offer (you can't get both). Here's more.
3. John Lewis: £20 back from £100 spend
If you've something you plan to buy at John Lewis then it's worth going via Vouchercloud as there's a £20 gift card on offer for spending over £100. Here's more.
4. Theatre: West End sale extended
The annual New Year sale for West End shows, with tickets from £10, has been extended until the end of February. Productions available include Back to the Future, The Lion King and Cinderella. More here.
5. Odeon: Five tickets for £25
The Groupon/Odeon deal is back, with either two tickets for £11 or five for £25 (more if it's an Odeon Luxe cinema). And if you stack with a promo code you can knock even more off. More on this and other cinema deals here.
6. Magazines: Three for £3
You can pick up three copies of titles such as FourFourTwo, Total Film and Woman & Home for £1 an issue in this sale. More here.
