Nationwide’s new bank switching offer – how to get up to £125
Exciting news for both new and serial bank switchers! You can now move your banking to Nationwide for a cash incentive. There's £100 for newbies, or £125 if you already have an account, savings or mortgage with the building society.
I've taken a look at how it works and analysed the options available.
The best student bank accounts
With the start of University around the corner I've looked at what makes a good student current account, and detailed which ones have the best special offers. Even if you aren't off to study, it's one to share with anyone who is.
If you'd rather watch there's also a version on YouTube.
Have you still got any old banknotes and coins?
I've not been using cash much the last 18 months, and found a pristine 'old' £20 note in a wallet that's not been used in that time.
Fortunately there's just over a year left before old £20 and £50 notes can't be used as legal tender, leaving plenty of time to spend them.
But what do you do if you have an old £5 or £10 note or a £1 coin? Here's what you need to do so you don't lose out. And a few places you might find them around the house.
Ask Andy #24: Your money questions answered
This week's questions answered include:
- Do I need to spend £3,000 all at once to get the Amex bonus?
- Should I get a credit card from my existing bank?
- & more
You'll also be able to watch last night's live Q&A video in full.
CASH CHATS PODCAST

- How libraries can save you cash (it’s not just on books)
- When Nationwide will begin offering cash for bank switching
You can listen via all the normal podcasting routes or over on the blog.

THIS WEEK'S TOP DEALS
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the titles or links for more information.
I'll also share a quick update on Instagram on Saturday morning.
1. Pubs: 2-4-1 drinks this weekend
Until Sunday you can claim a voucher to get you two drinks for the price of one at Stonehouse pubs across the country as part of National Pub Fortnight. Here's how to get it.
2. Vue: Ticket and pizza for £5
This offer at Asda will get you two pizzas and a drink for £5, and then let you claim either a Vue cinema ticket or Sky Store movie rental. More details here.
3. Brewdog: Multiple deal stack
You can get free delivery direct from Brewdog this weekend, alongside some discounts on various multipacks and 13% off some beers. Plus you can join a new loyalty scheme which will give you a free 4-pack on a second order.
To take advantage of these, I'd sign up via the referral link in the article, then buy a pack of four beers for £5 with the free delivery. Then with your next order you can get the freebie beer (if you spend more than £30), again with free delivery.
Here are the details of all the different deals you need.
4. Flowers: £10 off Bloom & Wild
This is a decent money off code for new orders at Bloom & Wild, plus you can get an extra £5 credit on top. More here.
5. Sky Sports: 10 months for £25 a month via NOW
If you want to catch football matches on Sky without paying for a full contract, this deal from NOW will let you get a cheaper price for 10 months - though you can stop the pass early. Here's more.
6. Curve: Free £10 welcome bonus
Curve is an app that lets you connect multiple debit and credit cards, but spend with a single smart debit card. I'm a fan. Sign up to get a £10 bonus. More here.
