Nectar & Sainsbury’s bonus point offers changing for some customers

I broke this story on Wednesday morning revealing that the usual weekly offers on the Nectar app to earn extra points at Sainsbury's are set to change.

Right now only some customers are missing the offer, and some are beginning to see different deals. Find out about what's happened here.

Santander 123 vs Santander 123 Lite

Fancy cashback on your bills? Of course you do. But last week saw yet another change to the Santander 123 account (the third or fourth in 18 months). It means this account and its sibling 123 Lite are very different from what most will be familiar with.

So I've taken a look at just how much money back you're likely to get on your bills. Is it still worth having either of these? Find out.

How to search price history and know if you’re getting a good deal

I hate offers and discounts that aren't really saving you any money. But how do you tell?

Well, I use price history tools to work out whether the price now is better or worse than previous prices. Here's how you can do the same.

Should you chase the best interest rates?

When rates drop, it makes sense to move your money to a better paying account. Right? Well, yes if it falls by 1%. And probably by 0.5%. But what about smaller cuts?

I've taken a look at how much interest you'll likely make by moving savings for amount such as an extra 0.1%.

Plus I've shared the best places to put £1,000, £5,000, £10,000 and £20,000.

THIS WEEK'S DEALS

I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the titles or links for more information.

I've also set up an extra Instagram account dedicated to the flash sales, deals and short-lived offers I spot throughout the week. Do follow me there so you don't miss out on offers that are already finished by the time this email goes out on a Thursday.

1. HSBC: £125 switch bonus and £20 Uber Eats voucher

This bank switching bonus just got better! Alongside the £125 cash, new account holders completing a full switch will now get an extra £20 Uber Eats voucher. More details on this and other switching offers here.

2. M&S: £5 off £40 food for new Sparks members

I was handed a flyer this week at my local M&S sharing that new members of the free Sparks loyalty scheme can get £5 off a £40 spend off food, and 10% off clothes and home.

(P.S. regular Sparks users - have you noticed a lack of new offers showing in your account for a while now? Or is it just me?! Let me know and I'll investigate further.)

3. Tidal: Six months free

It's your last chance to grab six months of free music streaming from Tidal via the Lidl Plus app. Details here.

4. Leon: Unlimited coffee for £15 a month

If you're venturing out more now, then this coffee subscription from Leon might be worth investigating. For £15 you can have 75 hot drinks a month.

5. Cloudwater: £3 craft IPA in Tesco

My favourite craft beer brewery is Cloudwater, and this week it announced a partnership with Tesco to sell tall cans of IPA for around £3 - potentially saving you £2 or £3 per can.
