My top articles this week

1. Ways to save money on the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro

From Friday you can preorder one of the new Apple iPhones - but it won't be cheap. The iPhone 11 starts at £729, while the top end iPhone 11 Pro Max will cost you £1,499! I used to upgrade to the latest model every year, but I've stuck with my iPhone 7 Plus for three years now - and I'll keep it for at least one more. But if you do want one of these new phones then there are ways to make sure you don't pay over the odds.

2. Is a smart meter worth it?

Though I initially resisted getting a smart meter (I didn't want a first generation version which turns into a dumb meter when you switch supplier), I went ahead and got one installed a few months back. Here's what happened at installation, and what difference it's made to me since.

3. How to quickly clear your credit card debt

If you've got any debt on your credit cards, then there's a good chance it's costing you more than you think it is. So anything you can do to reduce the cost of that debt and clear those cards is a very good thing. Here are a five ways to pay off your cards faster.

The top deals this week

I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.

Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter.

1. Cheapest way to get Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments

I'm a big fan of The Handmaid's Tale, so I've been eagerly awaiting for this sequel. Its cover price is £20, but I've found how you can get it on the high street for £10, or online for £8.30. There's even the potential for you to get it free if you've never used a cashback site before.

2. A potential £16 in "free" Amazon credit

There are currently three different offers which could get you free Amazon credit. The first ends on Sunday, and it's for Amazon Prime members who haven't streamed any TV or films yet. Do this to get a £5 off £20 spend voucher. The next two involved buying gift cards or topping up your account. If you're eligible you could get a £5 voucher and £6 credit. Here's more on each offer, and how to check if you're eligible.

3. Beat the NOW TV Entertainment pass price increase

In just under a month, the price of a month of channels such as Sky Atlantic and Sky One will go up by a quid. Yes it's not much, and it's still cheaper than getting Sky TV, but there are ways to save now, including a two month gift card for a tenner. Here are all the latest NOW TV deals.

4. Another £150 bank switching offer

Following hot on the heals of RBS announcing a £150 offer last week, you can get the same deal if you switch to Natwest. Once more that includes existing as well as new customers. Sadly you can only take advantage of one of these switches.

5. Tesco Clubcard Prices event - is it any good?

Last week I told you about special prices just for Clubcard users. Well it's now online and in big stores. So is it any good? More on how it works here.
