Your weekly money saving deals and news from money expert Andy Webb

"Wow, it's amazing how fast Christmas has come along. I hope you're all set and looking forward to a bit of a break over the next few weeks. My main article this week concerns what to do if you get an unwanted present, plus I've tips on how to get the best prices in the upcoming sales. And there are a few decent deals to keep you entertained over the next fortnight.

And please do tune in to Channel 5 at 8pm tonight for the last episode of this series of Shop Smart Save Money. I'll be sharing rules on gift cards and a few last minute gifts."

Finally, have a fantastic Christmas, and I'll be back next week with my pick of the best deals and offers in the Christmas and New Year sales."

My top articles this week

1. Should you regift an unwanted present?

If you get a gift next week that you don't like or don't need, you've got a few options. You can chuck it away (a total waste of money), sell it, donate it, or regift it. The latter might feel wrong, but I've shared the do's and don'ts of passing on presents so you can avoid any potential guilt or awkwardness.

2. Are you really going to get a bargain in the sales?

With Ikea's sale starting today and many more retailers also launching their festive sales early, I've shared the things to watch out for in your bargain hunting, and a few simple rules you can follow to make sure you're paying a decent price.

3. Five alternative gifts where the thought really does count

Last minute presents can be a right pain, but don't just grab "something" and justify it by saying it's the thought that counts. Nope, these are the presents that are going to be regifted. I've listed a few alternative gifts you can still buy that can make a difference.

The top deals this week

I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value - and here they are for you too. First some newbies in a bit more detail, then some you might have missed from previous weeks. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.

1. Two months free NOW TV Entertainment pass

This is for both new and existing customers via the fitness tracking app Sweatcoins. You'll need to do a little bit of walking, or watch some adverts, to get the pass, but it's a decent addition ahead of Christmas to watch channels such as Sky Atlantic or Sky One (which is showing the Greatest Showman on Christmas Day), or binge on some box sets including Game of Thrones.

2. One month of Sky Sports for £12.99

Another NOW TV deal, this time for Sky Sports. There are a lot of football matches on over the festive period so this is a good chance to get a month of all the channels for a fraction of the price.

3. 10% off iTunes gift cards

Head to Tesco if you want to save on iTunes. You can get a gift card in-store, or buy a digital one online.

4. Echo speaker and Dot discount

Though you might not be able to get it delivered in time for Christmas, there are big discounts on Amazon's Echo and Echo Dot speakers.

5. Save £50 on smart plug bundle

You can pick up three TP-Link smart plugs for £39.99 at Argos, which is a really good price. I've got a few of these and you can control them via your smart phone or smart speaker, as well as set timers and schedules.
