Your weekly money saving deals and news from money expert Andy Webb
My top articles this week
1. How to search price history and know if you’re getting a good deal
I wanted to share a couple of useful tools I use when shopping online to make sure not only I'm getting the best price now, but that I'm also getting a good price in general.
Here's how they help you spot whether a deal really is a deal or not.
2. The cheapest way to rent movies online and by post
With no trips to the cinema for moment, it's more tempting to rent the latest releases. You might think all the different services are the same, but actually quality and price can vary massively, so I've a trick to help you compare the prices all at once - and then bring the prices down further.
It's also still possible to rent DVDs and Blu-Rays by post. Here's more about your different options.
Plus check out the deal further down this email to get a free HD rental.
3. My £1k money makeover part 7: Your mortgage, rent and council tax
My mission to help you save £1,000 or more continues, and this is the last week where we're talking about bills. This week I've taken a look at the key costs when it comes to housing. Find out how you can save.
4. Money news catch up – Thursday 14th May 2020
I'm going to try a new round-up feature for you that brings together some of the headlines over the last 7-days that you might have missed.
So here's what you need to know, including the extension of the furlough scheme, opening up of the housing market and another savings rate cut.

The podcast this week
Beating the shame of debt
In this week's episode of Cash Chats I've talked to Clare Seal from the very popular instagram account @MyFrugalYear about how shame stopped her tackling her debts and how she managed to overcome it.

Join my new Facebook community
On Thursday I launched a new Facebook community for fans of the blog and my Cash Chats podcast.
The idea is that it's a space for us to connect throughout the week, as well as give you all a chance to ask questions and share your own money saving and money making ideas.
I've seen this work really well elsewhere so I'm excited about what we can all achieve together.
So please do head on over, join up and say hello.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.
Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a deals of the week video update on Friday.
1. Free movie rental (worth £4.50)
This is an exclusive offer I've negotiated for you that'll get you a free HD movie voucher.
To get it you need to take out a free two-month trial of Tastecard (remember to cancel if you don't want to pay afterwards). As part of the trial you'll also get a Rakuten movie rental (worth £4.50).
You need to sign up for your free trial by Monday. The e-voucher to use at Rakuten will be emailed to you on Monday and it'll be valid until the end of May.
2. Supermarket Food Box round-up
I think the food boxes with essential supplies are a great option for anyone sheltering. M&S has revamped its range, while there's a new one from Asda and an extra ones at Morrisons. Here's what you can get from each one, and how much they cost.
3. Petrol goes below £1 a litre
The supermarkets have begun to cut the price of petrol to below £1. Here's how to find the cheapest pumps near you.
4. Free Lego Ninjago on Xbox and Playstation
Both Xbox One and PS4 users can download this Lego game until the 21st May. Here's how to get your copy.
5. Cheap Night In picks
So it's going to be until July at the earliest that entertainment venues open (and maybe next year for things like gigs) so here's my latest rundown of some of the cheap and free films, TV shows, theatre productions and music sets you can watch from home over the next seven days.
This week it includes how to enjoy a substitute Eurovision, roam one of Mexico City's top museums, stream a classic Prince concert and more.
