Your weekly money saving deals and news from money expert Andy Webb

1. Cash hack: Free magazines tricks
Right now it's possible to get your hands on free digital magazines from a variety of places - including your library. And it's possible to join some libraries online during the pandemic so you can get access without leaving your home.
Here's how it works, and other ways to get free and cheap magazines.
2. The problem with Just Giving, and the best fundraising alternatives
It's great to see so much fundraising right now, and so many generous donations - but you might not be aware that not all the money you give actually goes to the charity.
Some costs are unavoidable, but it's possible to ensure more of your cash goes to the cause you want by picking a different platform to Just Giving.
Here's a selection of different options, and how much each charge to donate.
3. Andy’s £1,000 money makeover part 6: Insurance
I hope you're enjoying this series of videos sharing how I helped families save £1,000 or more on TV. This week I've taken a look at all your insurance policies. Find out how to reduce what you pay without sacrificing the cover you need.
4. Money news catch up – 7th May 2020
I'm going to try a new round-up feature for you that brings together some of the headlines over the last 7-days that you might have missed.

The top deals this week
I only share deals and special offers on the blog which I think are really good value. Click the red titles or blue links for more information.
Plus, it's worth following me on Instagram where I post any extra deals which come too late for the newsletter, including a deals of the week video update on Friday.
1. Up to £125 bonus from American Express
Without a doubt the best new customer deal out there for cashback credit cards is from American Express. You can get between £100 and £125 back depending on the card you go for. The problem since lockdown is that you'd need to spend £2,500 in the first three months.
Well Amex has just extended this initial bonus period to six months, making it easier to make the spend and get your bonus. Here's my pick of the different cards to choose from.
2. Free Ben & Jerry's ice cream tub
With the sun set to shine this weekend, it's a good time to take advantage of this offer. New customers to supermarket cashback app Shopmium can claim the cost back if a Ben & Jerry's tub by scanning the receipt. It's valid for purchases at all major supermarkets.
3. Free Kindle First Read for Prime Members
If you've got Amazon Prime then you can now claim a free book as part of First Reads. There's also a free title for anyone with a Times + subscription.
Here's who how to grab them, and other ways to get cheap Kindle books.
4. 25% off Showcase gift cards
Obviously no-one can go to the cinema at the moment, but if you're regularly going to a Showcase then this offer is worth a look.
You'll get 25% off if you spend at least £40. The e-gift cards will be emailed to you and are valid for 5-years (let's hope it's over by then!)
5. Cheap Night In picks
Here's my latest rundown of some of the cheap and free films, TV shows, theatre productions and music sets you can watch from home this weekend.
This week it includes how to visit a virtual zoo, tour the Louvre, watch classic World Cup matches and a selection of WW2 films to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
