Hi ,
Last weekend I snuck away to visit my family in Northern California. It was a beautiful weekend of harvesting olives (more on that below) and having a picnic and wine tasting at the beautiful Matchbook Winery tucked away in the Dunnigan Hills near Zamora. Their Tinto Rey Rose is always a favorite!
This week's 5 Things is mostly sublime with a little mundane thrown it. The most clicked Thing from last week is at the end. Enjoy!

And, now, 5 Things for you to experience...
1) Let's get the mundane out of the way. This article, The 35 Most Brilliant Cleaning Hacks of All Time, has some surprising tips. I've bookmarked it for reference and you may want to as well.
2) Via Further, this article spoke to me, An βAwe Walkβ Might Do Wonders for Your Well-Being. Whether it's trekking in the Andes or walking by the ocean on the Santa Monica boardwalk, there's always something awesome to see and experience when walking outside and I always get
3) As mentioned above, last Saturday I spent half the day picking olives at Olio De Nardi. A group of about 15 picked 1,240lbs of olives which resulted in 28 gallons of oil. It's a beautiful small farm and their prize winning olive oil always sells out fast. From the 2020 harvest: "Our October harvest ensures an extra-virgin olive oil high in polyphenols and antioxidants, making this a heart-healthy oil." What's not to love! (pictures here)
4) In addition to awe-inspiring walks and heart-healthy olive oil, you probably know by know that intermittent fasting has made a profound difference in my life for more than 2 years. One of the reasons I'm so keen on IF is the benefit of autophagy and the impact it has on cellular repair. This article about the Nobel Prize winning research on how fasting activates autophagy, which helps slow down the aging process and has a positive impact on cell renewal.
5) Coincidentally, right before I flew up to Sacramento, this book on my library hold list, showed up ready for me. Perfect timing! Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil. I've just started reading it so cannot give you a report right now.
