Adam's World Weekly 9/21

It is the biggest of weeks for your favorite writer, and it kicked off yesterday when I was a featured speaker at St. Vincent's Medical Center's cancer survivor's brunch.

Obviously, it was highly emotional going back to St. V's, as the last time I was there was when my father passed, but it was good to finally be inside its walls for a positive reason.

Keeping with the theme of giving back, the charity show that a buddy and I are co-producing that's in conjunction with One Hit Wondering will be this Thursday at The Bitter End in NYC.

It will be a night where some of NYC's finest indie musicians will perform covers of songs from the book, and all the proceeds will go to Imerman Angels, a cancer patient mentoring charity that I volunteer with. You can pick up tickets by clicking here, or on the photo.

I was also back in the news this past week, as my old high school, Fairfield Prep, featured me in their Alumni Spotlight (it counts as news, it was in their newsletter). The interview is mostly scholastic-based, and covers my journey to becoming a writer. I also revealed something about my youth that I haven't spoken about publicly before, but I think/hope that in doing so it will help a lot of kids, and parents. Speaking of my writing, this week's update is led off by a review of one of my recent dollar bin finds - Sabrina The Teenage Witch: The Album. When I saw it at the Pequot Library sale for $2, and looked at the totally bonkers lineup of artists, I knew I was going to have to write about it, and it's the subject of my latest Classic Compilation column.
