Overpass Bannering Planning Meeting
Jun 19, 2025 8:45 pm
Greetings ,
No Kings Day was a phenomenal success! MILLIONS of people took a stand in the largest action yet against the tyranny of the current regime. Thank you to everyone who helped make that happen.
Now that we have had a moment to catch our collective breath, it's time to regroup and harness the growing energy across the nation in our fight against authoritarianism, corruption, and greed.
Please join 50501 Augusta on Sunday June 22 at 4:00 pm to brainstorm on messaging and overpass locations for a burgeoning statewide and beyond overpass bannering protest to be held on 7/6. We will meet in the IBEW Training Hall 1250 Reynolds St, Augusta, GA 30901
What is an overpass banner campaign?
Also called freeway bannering, an overpass banner campaign is a powerful tool for regular people to make their voices heard and values visible. It's inexpensive, most of the required materials are reusable, and it's an effective way to reach thousands, even tens of thousands, of people in a short period of time. It is also a powerful way to literally stand by your message. Banners can be created to be held by one person or a crowd of people. Right now we have Resistance Orgs from FL to VA on board and organizing to capture the attention of the returning July 4th motorists!
That sounds like a fun way to get the message out, but is it legal? Do we need permits? Is it safe?
Those are great questions! And they're ones we'll address at our meeting on Sunday June 22 at IBEW Training Hall 1250 Reynolds St, Augusta, GA 30901 beginning at 4:00 pm.
All we ask is for you to send 1 - 2 members to the meeting so that we can discuss logistics, drill down on our messaging, and set up a sign making day before 7/6.
