Hi ,
How many books do you read in a month? Personally, I wish I had more time to devote to simply reading, but it's hard for me to get through more than a couple each month. (It probably doesn't help that I gravitate toward massive tomes!) Both of my young boys have become voracious readers. Honestly, if the book has the word "Minecraft" on it, they've probably read it at this point. π
But while we were at the library loading up on more books devoted to their favorite video game, I snuck away for a moment to check out another section, and look what I found!
It's a little surreal to see my book, The Cataclysm, on the shelf of our local library, but also immensely rewarding. I can't wait for the rest of the series to join it!
And we're just over a month away from Awakening's release on October 21st, so the next step isn't too far off. There'll be more to come as we gear up to launch, but don't forget to check out Awakening on my website for a sneak peek of the first few chapters or snag a pre-order.
Author Spotlight: Josiah DeGraaf
Only teachers know what really happens at a magic school...
If you're looking for a new read right now, you don't want to miss Josiah DeGraaf's incredible debut novel, A Study of Shattered Spells. I've had the pleasure of following Josiah since before his Kickstarter earlier this year, and this quickly became one of my favorite reads of 2025.
Immensely thought-provoking and powerfully told, A Study of Shattered Spells is a dark academia novel that will be perfect for fans of A Deadly Education, Dead Poetβs Society, and Magic for Liars. Plus, there are a ton of amazing illustrations to enjoy throughout! You can grab a copy starting today from Josiah himself, on Amazon, or at any other major retailer. So go out and support another debut indie author!
New deals and KU!
If one book isn't enough, check out this massive promo running during September. There's so many options to pick from here, you may not know where to start!

Much like the previous promo, this multi-genre giveaway has something for everyone, and all without the bits you'd prefer to avoid. I recently heard one of Jeremy P. Madsen's stories on a podcast and it was fantastic, so I can definitely recommend trying out one of his stories!
Don't forget this great fantasy and sci-fi giveaway either. I've seen a few of Steve Pantazis's stories around recently, and am debating picking one up. If you've checked his books out before, I'd love to know what you thought!
Happy reading!
