Hi ,

Happy New Year! I hope this is the first email you’re reading in 2025.

Each year, I write this letter to share insights on what’s been happening in the financial world and what we can look forward to in the coming year.

Investment Highlights

2024 was a strong year for the markets. Despite challenges like the new U.S. presidency, China’s property concerns, and fluctuating interest rates, markets continued to perform well. This reminds us that market noise is constant and inevitable.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’ll likely hear more about potential market downturns and uncertainties. While markets will have their ups and downs, sticking to strategies like dollar-cost averaging (DCA) in a global equity fund can help you stay disciplined, regardless of market conditions.

Wealth Management Updates

The closure of CPF Special Accounts (SA) has been a hot topic, especially for clients aged 55 and above. With these funds moving to Ordinary Accounts (OA) and the option to top up your Retirement Account (RA) for higher CPF LIFE payouts, many are asking:

• Should I top up my RA?

• What are the implications?

• Are there better alternatives?

Another key concern is the rising cost of medical insurance. With all insurers increasing premiums for hospitalisation plans, I’ve been asked about switching providers.

My advice? Avoid frequent switching, as premiums can change across the board. Instead, consider staying with your current insurer and exploring options like downgrading coverage if you’re comfortable with it.

To prepare for rising premiums, I encourage clients to build a sinking fund specifically for medical insurance. This fund allows you to set aside savings gradually, ensuring you can manage higher premiums later without affecting your cash flow or other financial goals.

A Decade of Serving You

2025 marks 10 years since I started my journey as your financial advisor. Over the years, I continue to stay committed to supporting your holistic wealth planning.

This year, my firm is planning more financial education events, including health talks, estate planning seminars, and CPF sessions. I look forward to inviting you to attend these sessions, and I hope they benefit you and your loved ones.

As we step into the new year, I wish you a healthy, happy, and fulfilling 2025. Thank you for trusting me as your advisor—I’m excited to continue supporting your financial journey.

Warm regards,

Zest Chia
