Thse tiny holes are called pores. They are an essential part of your skin. The pores are openings from the deeper layer of the skin to the outermost part crucial for improving your skin health and body metabolism.
The function of the pores are;
- It serves as an exit channel for sebum which lubricates the skin making it act as a waterproof this regulating what enters into the skin.
- It forms a thin film called the acid mantle, a protective barrier against invading harmful microorganisms and weather elements.
- It improves skin moisture by reducing water loss keeping the skin plump.
- It acts as a channel for sweating removing waste from the body
- It dilates and constricts as the weather temperature changes thus regulating the body temperature.
So you see , your skin cannot be like glass, else your skin health will not be optimal. Your skin is a living thing that needs to breath and be taken care of.
