Secondary Sale (omnibus) + Writing Update

Feb 13, 2024 8:39 pm

Hey nerds!

If you're going to be at Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle this year, I'd love to meet you! I'll be roaming around on Saturday. Also, if you're new to the newsletter, I highly recommend checking out my 2023 — Year in Review post that shares a ton of useful information, including my annual transparency report, income and expenses. I do these every year, and I think they're an interesting look into the life of an author.

Okay...this year has really kicked off with a bang! I can't express how much fun I am having getting tagged in your social media posts for the Kickstarter omnibus. It makes me so happy that you love it as much as I do! If you're curious, distribution is never perfectly smooth. We've had about a dozen books that arrived damaged that we have to replace, but that's not bad for 1200 going out around the world! Still, we're making sure the printer is aware of the recurring issues.

It has been particularly fun to see the omnibus showing up on shelves next to other special editions!

Special Edition Secondary Sale

On March 1st at 9AM PST, I will send a short email to all newsletter subscribers with a link to purchase the remaining stock of the Threadlight omnibus. On March 2nd, I will share the link on my social media accounts more broadly, unless the books are already sold out. Based on how many emails and messages I've received, I do expect them to go quite quickly.

It is looking like there will be ~150 copies available, 100 of which will come with the slip case. The price will be slightly higher than the Kickstarter exclusive price. Again, this includes all three books, a foreword by Ryan Cahill, and an exclusive, heartwarming post-credit scene at the end of the trilogy.

Please reach out if you have any questions!

Writing Update

I completed a short story called The Equestrian for a yet unannounced anthology that I'm very excited about. In a turn of events that will surprise absolutely no one, the story is about love, loss, and relationships. If you enjoyed Five Silver Rings, I think you'll love this one too.

On a more exciting note, I've kicked back into full gear on writing Symphony in the Skies, adding another 10k words. I'm committed to finishing the first draft as quickly as I can. The world is much more expansive than Threadlight, which means I've spent much more time preparing to write. I want to make sure I can foreshadow all of the exciting twists and turns that'll happen later down the road, while still making the first book gripping.

My other projects have slowed as I try to focus my attention on Symphony. So I don't expect many updates in the coming months on Paramortals or Tom Blade. But if I get blocked on Symphony, who knows...

Conclusion

Thank you all for your continued support! Authors live or die on word of mouth, so never stop shouting about the books you love.
