Hello
We are glad o have you as a part of the KNOSK community and share the KNOSK dream with us. On successfully coming to the end of September, we bring to you highlights of the events and activities of the KNOSK N100-a-day Charity Secondary School for this month.
INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY CELEBRATION HOLDS AT KNOSK
On Thursday, September 8th 2022 we were honoured to host the National Library of Nigeria as they commemorated the international literacy day celebration in collaboration with USAID Learn to Read, the National Institute for Nigerian Languages and the Reading Association of Nigeria.
We welcomed the presence of the National Librarian Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, the honourable minister of state for education Hon. Goodluck Nana Opiah and the executive director of the National Institute for Nigerian Languages Professor Emejulu Obiajulu.
Dinatu Joseph (JSS3) and Majorie Pada (SS1) co-anchored the event from start to finish, they wonderfully introduced the dignitaries and agendas like professionals and occasionally threw in jokes to lighten the mood of the occasion.
Godwin Ogah (JSS3) who is the library prefect gave a short speech about the library and the National Library of Nigeria, and along with other solvers like Victor Ugwuoke, participated in a spelling bee competition.
The icing on the cake however was the drama presented by KNOSK solvers Farida Bakare (JSS3), Patience Onmata (JSS3), Precious Benjamin (JSS2), Happiness Oghie (JSS3), Adamu Saleh (JSS2) and Patricia Oki (JSS2) with the theme of this year's international literacy day celebration, "Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces". Through their drama, they demonstrated how effective learning today can help shape a great future.
ADMISSION CLOSES ON SEPTEMBER 12TH
After a rigorous 12 weeks, we officially drew the curtain on the KNOSK admission process for the 2022/2023 school year on September 12th, 2022.
We have 35 new students joining the KNOSK family after weeks of house visits, conducting three batches of entrance exams, marking, grading and reviewing cut-off points with the management team.
it was indeed an intense season. We are excited to welcome the new families, some of the children coming in are orphans, some are living with grannies, a couple of them are missionary kids and others were brought from the village. We also have a couple of families whose other children are already with us.
We are satisfied with the selections so far and we are honoured to welcome the new students. Among the 35 children, we already have children whose education at the KNOSK school is being fully or partly sponsored and a number of them who are yet to be sponsored.
