Hello ,

It has been almost a month since the launch of our big project. In these past weeks, we have had "The Big Launch," unveiled one of our major projects for the year, and kicked off an amazing campaign. We are delighted to write you once again to update you on the highlights and events of the KNOSK N100-a-Day School.

On March 8th, 2023, we hosted the KNOSK Big Launch! It was a fun and joyful moment as we set out on a new 90-day adventure called Project 9’90. This is set to raise funds to build 9 classrooms in 90 days.

In October 2022, we purchased our first piece of land, measuring 7,900 square meters. Now, it is time to build urgently. Watch the live replay of "The KNOSK Big Launch" and get a snippet of the project 9'90 campaign on https://youtu.be/bJe6ROP1fDM

WHY ARE WE DOING PROJECT 9'90?

We are in our fourth school year since the inception of KNOSK School in September 2019. Over these four sessions, we have grown from 30 to 107 students, overstretching our current building from being just a simple 5-bedroom duplex and adding 7 additional rooms to accommodate all our learners.

This current facility also houses our ICT lab, science lab, workshop, library, and sickbay, along with 7 classrooms. There is barely enough room to accommodate the number of teachers we have.

For every 30 children we admit each year, we are unable to admit an average of 70 children from low-income families due to lack of space. There are 20.4 million out-of-school children, we would like to take in a minimum of 100 children every school year.

We've also seen cases of children who came to take our entrance exams but couldn't read or write even after finishing primary school. We would like to set up a literacy center and program for children like this in Kuje. These kids are from the poorest families, and so they will not be able to afford any intervention going forward. This already excludes them from future opportunities.

As of today, UNICEF records that 75% of Nigerian children aged 14 and below are unable to read. We want to do something about that.

Finally, we want to set up a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) center where these children can get solid livelihood skills as part of their mainstream education. After graduation, we want them to be financially independent, whether or not they advance to the university.

For this reason, we have set out to raise funds to build nine (9) classrooms in 90 days.
