When did we stop dreaming?
Oct 22, 2025 11:16 am
I've been noticing something.
It's not just in businesses. It's everywhere.
A culture of low expectation.
It seeps into families. Teams. Communities. Friendships. Even our own hearts—without us realizing it.
One day, you're chasing big dreams. You're believing for more. You're expecting breakthrough, transformation, abundance.
And then... somewhere along the way... you stop.
You stop dreaming.
You stop wishing.
You stop wanting.
Not because you decided to. But because "good enough" became the standard. Because everyone around you settled, so you did too. Because disappointment felt safer than hope.
Next thing you know, you're celebrating small wins that should've been stepping stones. You're comfortable in a life that was never meant to be your ceiling. You're tolerating mediocrity in your relationships, your health, your business, your faith.
And the cost?
Legacies. Entire generations.
Because when you stop dreaming, your kids stop dreaming. When you accept "fine" as the standard, your team does too. When you lower your expectations, everyone around you follows.
Here's what I know:
There's no such thing as a life, a family, or a business that can't experience extraordinary breakthrough. There are just people who've accepted a culture of low expectation.
And I refuse to let that be my story. Or yours.
This Friday, I'm hosting a Coffee Talk where we're going to dive into this:
How the culture of low expectation takes root (in business, family, and personal life)
The cost of settling—and what we're leaving on the table
How to break free and start dreaming again
What it looks like to build a life, family, and business worth getting excited about
When: This Friday, 2 PM EST
Where: https://gobrunch.com/events/land/eozqjp
What to bring: Your coffee and your honest answer to this question: Where have you lost expectations?
This isn't just for business owners. This is for anyone who's felt like they've stopped dreaming and doesn't know how to start again.
Let's talk about it. Let's get real. Let's figure out what's possible.
See you Friday,
— Yanik
P.S. If you've been feeling stuck, uninspired, or like you're just going through the motions—this conversation is for you.
